oil extractor

Looking to buy a manual oil extractor.

There seems to be a ton of them out there of similar type.

My question is, are the extraction tubes that you put down the dipstick tube long enough for typical outboard? I'll be using it on a Suzuki 150 and a Yamaha 115.

I assume the answer is yes but just thought I'd verify before purchasing.

Why not just drain them through the drain plug it’s easier than pumping it out by hand.

I would say it's less mess, my drain plug runs out over cowling.  Less cleanup.

Will probably use drain plug every 3rd time or so.

I use one often on Yamaha 60, Merc 50, OMC 70, Bad Boy mower, and lawn boy

I've never had a problem with the pick-up tube diameter or length.  It is real handy when changing oil on a boat on the water in a dock or on a lift...much cleaner.  The only downside is that you are leaving a small bit of old oil in the engine, but this is not important if you are doing regular oil changes.   The big challenge is getting the darn oil filter off and replaced without dripping 1/4 cup of oil into the lake...a bunch of paper towels can stop that from happening.
