Seth Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 Are there any other hardcore bow hunters on here? I'm all pumped up for this Saturday when season opens up. The weather is supposed to be amazing. High of 66 and low down into the 40's. Deer should be up and moving all day long with the drop in temperature. If anybody else is going to be in the stand/blind, good luck to you.
TroutBum4wt Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 I wish I could be out there Saturday morning, but I have family stuff. The weather sounds great!! Hopefully, I'll hit it the next weekend. Good luck everyone and be safe this opening weekend and season! "Where There Are Trout, There's Hope" - John Gierach
Members Morgan F. Posted September 10, 2007 Members Posted September 10, 2007 Amen and pass the fletching...the time is here! Too bad I don't have a trout stream running in front of my stands! Good Luck! Morgan F.
Terry Beeson Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 My "happy hunting ground" is all in Arkansas, so I'll have to wait for October 1 for my bow hunting. Since that's on a Monday, I'll be waiting for Friday the 7th. I went down last Friday and added some salt to the salt lick, and planted some turnips and peas for a late crop... ahem... Did see several deer around my stand Saturday morning, but I'm sure they will get wise by October... Anyone use anything like salt licks, deer cocaine, attractants other than food plots and any success? pvspmo Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 tried the deer cocaine last year... they beat up the ground just like advertised, but did it all at 2:00 A.M. Hard to hunt those deer when i am sleeping!!!
Don Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 I plan to get back into bowhunting for the first time in 17 years. Nothing too serious, just chase a few deer around the house. I won't go until there's a hard frost. My goal is to bowhunt one morning and fish Taney the same afternooon. Only in America Don Don May I caught you a delicious bass.
vonreed Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 I can't hardly stand waiting any longer. Me and my wife are headed up to North Mo to a new property we just got permission on. 563 acres on a big ridge above the Chariton River. I can't even sleep at night because of it, lol.
flyfshn Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 Won't be in my stand this weekend....it's the wife's 40th! She wants to get away and take a trip to Branson on Sat/Sun. I told her that since her bday is on Sunday, I should be allowed to bring the fly rod on Sat. for a couple of hours. Seems fair, right?? Fish On!
