A little chilly early but turned into a very nice spring day.  I fished from daylight until noon.  A lot of other fishermen out on the lake.  Saw several kayaks, might have been a yak tourney going on.

Bite was a little slow but not bad.  I caught 10 bass, nine were smalls and one LM.  No bigguns, 3 were over the 15" mark.  Average size was good, had several near keepers too.  Water has warmed enough that the smalls are pulling pretty hard, lots of fun on the spinning rod.  I caught the first two on a little jig, the rest were on 2.8 Keitechs.  Most bites were in less than 15 FOW.

A buddy of mine was out too, he and his friend caught several good LM's and some white bass.  I'm not going to say exactly where, but if you poke around in the backs of the coves you might find some white bass.

It happens every year now. I get your report and I start thinking about hitting Indian Creek. Even though I know I'll get there and see the gin clear water and lose all confidence. Oh well, I'll put on my best ned rig and give it the ol' college try soon. Soon as the wind is not at hurricane force that is.

Thanks for the report.

The water is stained green for the most part, maybe 10 foot of viz was the clearest I saw.  The bite should get better as the water warms.

Thanks for the report. I'll be at Beaver this week.   Were you able to tell if Smallies still pre-spawn or working their way back out?

I think they are still pre-spawn.
