jdmidwest Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 Was planning on taking a few days off next week to get a little fishing in before duck season starts. I have not seen a report on the upper Current River lately. I was wondering if the low water has affected the fish any. It should be getting close to the fall spawn around there and the big fish should be out. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Al Agnew Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 Fished it above Tan Vat last weekend...fishing was tough. Water extremely clear and low, only saw one redd, and it had a couple of medium size browns hanging around it. I caught about a half dozen fish, none of them big. Met up with Sam Potter on the river...I think he caught more fish, but he said it was pretty tough, too. Sure wish we would get some serious rain.
Gavin Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 Surprised I missed you last weekend Al...fished it above Parker on Saturday the 20th, and above Tan Vat on Sunday the 21st. fishing was slow and only a couple fish on redds..Floated Baptist to Parker Friday-Sunday and fishing was pretty slow. Saw quite a few redds this weekend, and some really nice fish in spawning colors, but I dont bed fish... Best day was Friday, white zonker in the rain. Water was still super low and clear on Saturday and Sunday caught a few on a Madame X and a couple more on mohairs and sparkleminnows.....but it was really slow.. If I had another permission slip coming I'd probably let the Current be and head to the 11pt. Less dragging and it usually fishes well this time of year. Cheers.
