Dave Cook Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 Fly fishing at Bennett Spring and Missouri is defined by the lure (fly) not the rod. Until they changed the definitions a few years ago, you could fish a fly with rubber legs as a legal bait/lure in zone 3. I would hit those riffles in zone 3 back then. Now, if you are in zone 3 and you stick a live worm on your fly, they would consider that not to comply with the "bait" regulations. So now I just keep some soft plastics around in case I get the urge fish zone 3. Of course the exception to all of this is during the catch and release season your can fly fish zone 3.
