Going to try to predict the future... well guess what the trout will do this week into the weekend.

Little or no generation. Mild temps and low lake leves plus low o2 still. That's good for fishing.

Big midge hatches all over- esp early am and pm. So fish close to the surface and you should do good. Under an indicator- a micro jig, marabou jigs both in olive, brown or pink (has been hot), zebra midge or a jig head with a Gulp Egg- and again pink has been a hot color.

Lots of rainbows down around Monkey Island down to the Landing- lots and lots and really some nicer rainbows too. Actually seems like there alot of rainbows in the lake period for this time of year.

In the trophy area are some very nice 14-16 inch rainbows to be caught (and released). Zebra midge #16 in black or red- fish it 12 inches if they are feeding on the surface or 3-4 ft deep if they are not. 2 lb line best. Also, #14-16 scuds under an indicator and fish them on the bottom, moving them every 5-8 seconds to attract attention. 6x ok on scuds.

Below the dam- sounds like there's alot of very nice trout up there, although I'm still waiting for my waders to come back from Orvis so I can go. I'd say midges- thread, RS2, WD40's in gray and olive. And of course scuds- small during the day (#18, #20) and alittle bigger during low light.

This is pretty general but in short, fishing has been very good. Should continue through the Christmas season.

Go for it... I'd be "shooting in the dark" on that one.

Phil:

Thanks for the information. Most of those patterns are what I done well with a couple of weeks ago. Especially the Brown and olive jigs on 1/100 silver head tied with red thread dressing on the eye. I also had very good success on a hares ear tied with a short hares mask tail and natural rabbit dubbing on a 2487 scud hook with a tusgsten 3/32 brass colored bead head.

I expect to be down the week of the 9th for 5 days to give your predictions a test. Hopefully the weather will be nice enough for me to pull my boat down.

If not I will brave the tailwater.

Ok, here's my night time prediction this week.

All the 20-24 inch browns you could want below outlet 1 throught the flats and then again below outlet 2 along the bank down through the riffles above the rebar on size 10-14 sow bugs and scuds drifted under a lighted indicator. Time to start trying the giant bead head midges again in size 10 and 12. Primrose and pearl should work good drifted under lighted indicators.

For you stripper club members - You cant go wrong with white slump busters and palmered mink both weighted and none weighted from the cable on both sides down to outlet 2. From outlet 2 down to the point white will still work but other colors might be better such as black and olive. Mohairs are always a winner in the "Ace of Spades" and "Blood Red".

Should be able to land a few 5-6 pound lap dances with those combos!

A few of the browns are still squirting eggs and starting to see some bigger rainbows.

This prediction comes with a money back guarantee!!

Have to amend my prediction simply because it was wrong. They've ran water the last 3 mornings and evenings and quite a bit during the day.

There's virtually no one fishing hardly so it's hard to say how it is. I'm sure water temp has dropped since they started running water but I'm sure the trout have gotten used to the change by now. They are still midging pretty heavily when the water is off.
