Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted June 25, 2008 Root Admin Posted June 25, 2008 Average - some will be smaller and some larger. That's not counting the feds rainbows coming in at a whopping 8 inches.
Trav Posted June 25, 2008 Author Posted June 25, 2008 I thought all the fish were coming out Shepherd of the hills? Could have sworn I read that there wasnt anymore coming in from Neosho. "May success follow your every cast." - Trav P. Johnson
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted June 26, 2008 Root Admin Posted June 26, 2008 Oh yea- mostly in December. 200k of them
Trav Posted June 26, 2008 Author Posted June 26, 2008 Interesting. Have fun in Alaska! "May success follow your every cast." - Trav P. Johnson
drew03cmc Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 8" fish...darn, not even trout park size, unless you want to count the 3" trout I caught at Bennett a few years back. Andy
Trav Posted June 26, 2008 Author Posted June 26, 2008 Good food for the browns! "May success follow your every cast." - Trav P. Johnson
drew03cmc Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 Good Point. However, those 8" fish could be fun on a 1wt... Andy
Trav Posted June 26, 2008 Author Posted June 26, 2008 Pound for pound, a six inch gill will fight harder than an 8 inch trout. But getting a hook out of a gill can prove to be much more difficult sometimes. They have such tiny little mouths. "May success follow your every cast." - Trav P. Johnson
drew03cmc Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 Gills are my favorite fishies! I love them on my 3wt fly rod...I throw flies from a #16 up to a #8 for them... Trout, hell, I cannot even see my flies. Andy
Trav Posted June 27, 2008 Author Posted June 27, 2008 If all it takes is forage for the Channel Cat introduction then this fishing report is proof positive! There is more forage than there is apex. I was told by Russ that he caught a 6 pound Drum! Be sure to check out my investigation on forage fish. I will continue to catch more forage fish yet again tommorrow. If there is plenty for me then for sure a few thousand channels wont hurt any. http://ozarkanglers.com/forums/index.php?s...c=12358&hl= If I can get enough of you guys to back me, maybe MDC will listen? I will be happy with a cat population to add on to our great trout fishing. "May success follow your every cast." - Trav P. Johnson
