Randall Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 fantastic... thanks bud Cute animals taste better.
tippet7 Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 Take a look at this bow my brother caught back in OCT. The belly of this thing look a lot like a brown trout. I had never seen one look like this before. And the fish was stupid. 2 hours later, my brother caught the same fish, on the same fly (hares ear) in almost the same spot. You are so stupid you threw a rock at the ground and missed.
Randall Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 i've seen that pic before somewhere. and people say catching a fish is traumatic for it... must not be too horrible Cute animals taste better.
tippet7 Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 i've seen that pic before somewhere. I pasted that one and a couple of others from that weekend on a different thread, and I the Springfield paper has it in their photo gallery. But they screwed up the discription of it a little bit. You are so stupid you threw a rock at the ground and missed.
Danoinark Posted February 6, 2006 Author Posted February 6, 2006 You would be able to get to Cotter on the White in about 3 hrs., 3 and a half to Norfork. Dano Glass Has Class "from the laid back lane in the Arkansas Ozarks"
Wayne SW/MO Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 Actually I believe Brookies are the only trout native to Missouri. I believe, however that they died out a few thousand years ago. I have heard, but not sure how true it is, that Brookies are less tolerant to high temperature and to low DO. Cutts are another animals, but I'm not sure what advantage they might bring, other than for Taney where they might disperse better. Kokanee Salmon in 1968 and 1969, I'm not sure about that report Brian. I've been around Kokanee and they don't get that big, and they aren't predators. They would however be a poor choice for Taney, at least in my experience with them. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
