Members jrbhc8 Posted January 11, 2008 Members Posted January 11, 2008 I don't know about the springs, but I have been working down in Steelville. The Maramec down there is up and really muddy. jrbhc8 www.troutchapters.com jrbhc8 ~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~ | <°)))>< | <°)))>< | | ¿ >°)))><
Members Bosch Posted January 16, 2008 Members Posted January 16, 2008 I fished yesterday, Jan15 and the water was up slightly but no where near the sidewalk. Water was stained and murky and fishing was tough. Fished from about 11:30 to 2:30 and managed only 3-4 fish. Was able to convince a few on a bead headed scud. I was really surprised to see the water conditions as they were, considering we haven't had much precip lately, any ideas from anyone as to the reason?
Seth Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 Sounds like the get together down there Saturday will be a tough for fishing. Better bring some streamers and bright colors flies to try.
jdmidwest Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 There could have been a cavein in the cave system that feeds the spring. The water may have not cleared out since the last system went thru. They could have cleaned the hatchery runs out. Many reasons for the water to be off color. It may be muddy in the recharge area of the spring system.
