Larry Richards
I am wondering if we are going to have a early spring even as cold as it is now.We are getting birds into our feeders that we dont normaly see until spring. That sure would be nice for spring fishing. Ham
Hey Larry Speaking of Spring,Do you have any ideas about when I couold look for a white bass/walleye/ striper run up the main river arm. I expect White Bass run to be triggered my current flow, but I'll have to wait and see. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. Project Healing Waters
Migratory birds follow the snow-cover line moreso than the temperatures. If they get southerly prevailing winds, they often move back up to places below the snow line to feed. And we just haven't had any snow. Usually one good snow that covers food for several days pushes them south and they won't return until Spring. Thirty-some-odd tornados might cause some to ask similar questions. But the reality is these are things that sometimes DO happen in winter...just not very often. http://www.projecthealingwaters.org
Thom
We are birders and have several feeders. I have noticed lots of birds the last few years that are staying all winter and last winter saw birds that I had never seen in the winter. I know there is lots of discussion on global warming but we have armadillos in this part of the county in much larger numbers than ever before. I sure would like to see a better crappie spring this year. It sure has been spotty the last three years. Of course trout fishing is usually good all year around. Only the anglers get cold. The trout have basicly the same temps year around. Thom Harvengt
