Members flyfishinggolfer Posted February 12, 2008 Members Posted February 12, 2008 Even though im pretty much invisible on this site i will go ahead and chime in here. As for the boats i fish out of a kayak on a regular basis. I always when possible take my boat behind a fly fisher ( making sure im seen or heard right before i get behind them as to not get hooked on a back cast. Now if that fisher is positioned so i can get behind him i will do my best to stay out of or away from the hole they are fishing AMAP. They dont own the river if they want to cry about it at that point well that just a personal problem they are going to have to deal with. On the river the only thing that really GRINDS MY GEARS is 1) certian individuals down on the river whos voices carry very well and never seem to be able to shut their mouths 2) and two when someone walks in and positions themself about 30 feet upstream from you. ( this is really the only thing i will voice my opinion about) that being said SOME fly fishers do come off as being some of the most picky, emotional people i have ever met and three females live in my house I am not being flip or contrary. But, what is the problem with 30 feet upstream? I have been fishing and someone shows up and sets up within 30 feet upstream. What am I missing? I have probably done it without thinking about it, and luckily, I wasn't next to you. Fly,

Fly, there is nothing wrong with fishing 30 feet from someone if its a busy day and there is no other or little room. Usually when im fishing its in areas that are not very crowed at all. Reading my post now that would sound harsh on some of the other busy river areas in the ozarks. Also its not like i would ever really yell at someone for such a reason cheers

My understanding of "hijacking" would be like if you started a thread selling an Elvis salt and pepper shaker set, then I were to come on and post that I had some Elvis thimbles that I would like to sell as well Then- Phil would "nix" it by giving me a proper verbal smack-down Cenosillicaphobiac
shawncat Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 Thank you ,Forsythian.I thought your post was funny........but I was really looking for the administrators view or interpretation.I have read and seen the term used but am not totally sure exactly what it means. As for nix,I have'nt a clue, but never expected "a verbal smackdown".
