Danoinark Posted February 9, 2008 Author Posted February 9, 2008 Maybe I'm misunderstanding what I am reading in the article here: http://money.cnn.com/2008/02/08/pf/taxes/r...sion=2008020817 but it says, "Do I have to pay the rebate back? No. And here's why. Your rebate is a one-time tax cut - an advance on a credit you'll receive on your 2008 return." Maybe they are putting in an extra credit for the 2008 season that we will not see if we are getting a credit now. I took that to mean that they are giving us some of our 2008 money now, but maybe they are doing some Enron accounting. Sure is confusing, but what I read into that is in 2008, the rebate or tax CUT will be built in. I read it like you do. Dano Glass Has Class "from the laid back lane in the Arkansas Ozarks"

Dutch Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 This reminds me of a Shakespearian Play that I had to read in college.
Dutch Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 much ado about nothing???? That would be the one.
flyfshn Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 This whole thing burns me... giving money away they don't have. And it won't do anything for the economy, esp long range. This is setting a precedent... if you feed the electorate when times get just alittle tight, they'll maul you every time some economists yells "recession!" Bums you......I was planning to give mine to you and stay a night or two!! Now I will have to apply it to the credit card! Fish On! Mike Utt “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery. If you don't mind educating me a little, I'd like to hear it on a different thread or a PM. I LOVE what he says about bin Laden and the war, I would just be interested to hear your reasoning. Thom Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 Every exconominist I have read says it is the dumbrst idea to borrow money and give it away to fix the economy. Even fox news anaylist who are of course fair ane balanced say it is a bad idea. Election years bring about strange things like Pat Roberson the champion of familly values endorsing Guilani and an obsecure politician with hardly any foriegn policly experience being a front runner in the dems partly. We are tole that some are dropping out because they cannot afford to advertise in the next primaries (buy the vote?) As one famous american from Branson (Yakov) said....."What a country"...?
