Terry Beeson Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 OK... so my step-daughter, her S/O, and the grandbaby are coming up for the weekend. We want to take them to a Japanese restaurant with a hibachi grill since they have never been. I know Nakatos is the "famous" one, but have any of you tried some of the others and suggest a better alternative? We want the entertainment with good food. The "experience" for first time-ers. We want to impress them with the antics of the chefs. Danoinark Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Is there not a Benihanas in Springfield? Glass Has Class "from the laid back lane in the Arkansas Ozarks"
WebFreeman Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Really depends on the chef for us. We like Hinode's on S. Nat. Fuji's is good, but the chefs are a little boring, but they do have an early bird special. Seems like there is a forth and I can't place, but Hinode's is our fav--good sushi, too. snagged in outlet 3 Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Hi Terry I think you mean Japanese Steak-house where they prepare food at a grill with you sitting around it? Hibachi is open flame cooking. There is a Shogun's in branson on 165 just north of the dam. I googled Japanese steak-house Springfield MO are there are several listed. Hope this helps. SIO3
soggyfeet Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 I dont know why you would want to take them out and mess with the crowds Terry. You seem like a funny guy so why dont you rig yourself up with a big flat top grill and some bar stools and just flipping food in their mouths (or laps or what ever else you might hit). I think that would be real entertaining. But other than that I dont have a clue on where to go in the springfield area. Too many resturants in that town I dont see how they all stay in business. Terry Beeson Posted February 13, 2008 Author Posted February 13, 2008 OK... yeah... that's what I mean... And no Beni's here... And Brian, I'm convinced that 90 percent of the people in Springfield do not work. They merely drive around from restaurant to restaurant and eat... 24 hours a day... Bittle Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 Nakato's is hands down the best Japanese style restaurant I've been too. I love Japanese food and have tried several in the springfield and st louis areas. Nakato's prepare the food in front of you. They are on Glenstone right by the mall.
Terry Beeson Posted February 14, 2008 Author Posted February 14, 2008 Hey... I emailed Rib Crib about my "problem" NYE. They want to "make it up to me..." loo10 Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Heard Fuji was under new ownership so we went today after church; thought we'd check it out. New plates, new look....show was good....food was excellent!
