fly2fish Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 Duane, glad to see you are working on becoming a photojournalists. Had any offers from Flyfishing magazine or American Angler yet? I think everyone loves the pics especially the double hook up. Looks like you may have been using a BHPT and a San Juan. I thought about fishing Crane the other day, actually detoured on the back home from Branson to check it out. I will be back around March 9-12 and hope to spend one day over there. Henry
timsfly Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 Very nice pictures, I went down again this morning, it was like fishing in a rain shower with all the ice melting, I only managed to catch 3 trout and few chubs. It was very pretty this morning, no footprits in the ice and nobody around, that is the main reason I fish crane, that and the fish are very pretty. drew03cmc Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 I am planning a trip out there soon, but need a shorter rod still () I cannot wait to fish the tranquil spring creek! Andy
duckydoty Posted February 14, 2008 Author Posted February 14, 2008 Thanks guys. I'm glad you all enjoyed the report. Crane is a great place to fish and a nice break from Taney. The beauty of the fish definately make up for the average size differences. I did get ahold of one that was pushing 15 inches, but it was a LDR. A 20" fish over there would be a true trophy!. Tim, I know you've caught a few of the larger ones over there. Thats what dreams are made of! duckydoty A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. CaptainT16 Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 I would have to agree as well. Never have fished it, but going to have to give it a try someday. Definately a great looking fish, as I've never seen a picture of them before! Keep up with the great reports! "He told us about Christ's disciples being fisherman, and we were left to assume...that all great fishermen on the Sea of Galilee were fly fisherman and that John, the favorite, was a dry-fly fisherman." - Norman Maclean-A River Runs Through It
