Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted November 23, 2005 Root Admin Posted November 23, 2005 I've seen where some sites/forum have programs where people can upload pictures to their own gallery, kinda like a blog but pic, not text. Anyone interested in something like that? Invision has one but I wasn't impressed with it.
Guest Jim Traylor Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Pics are always good. Mabey I can figure out how to post them one day. Jimmy T.
gonefishin Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 I dunno....Pics of fish for fishermen to look at.........Kinda sounds like a porn site for fishermen. Just kidding I think a gallery would be fantastic. I don't catch many fish myself so if there were a gallery I could live vicariously through others by drooling over all the fish that other people catch. I would rather be fishin'. Bill Butts Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 Phil, I would say the # of views of your post would indicate that just the word "gallery" is going to get attention. Galleries are fun to view and sometimes drool over, but for me there is always that "wonder how and where that fish was caught" thought. Could a gallery be set up that provided the format for including a little story with it? Heck, just a Forum category might work. You could state in the intro that a brief (or not so brief) explanation of the angler's "experience" is encouraged to be included with the photo. There are some great stories that accompany pictures of small fish, too, like someone's first fly rod caught something, a special trip, etc. Wouldn't that work? CaptainT16 Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Yes, I believe a gallery would be an excellent idea. It would be the hottest topic on this website. "He told us about Christ's disciples being fisherman, and we were left to assume...that all great fishermen on the Sea of Galilee were fly fisherman and that John, the favorite, was a dry-fly fisherman." - Norman Maclean-A River Runs Through It
Members Brent-T Posted January 18, 2006 Members Posted January 18, 2006 Absolutely! Maybe then I can apply all of the things I learn from the photography forum here. As Butts stated, I like the idea of including a little story with it.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted January 18, 2006 Author Root Admin Posted January 18, 2006 You could use the blog for what you're talking about now... You'd have your own section and could post pics and stories there.

Members albright3 Posted January 22, 2006 Members Posted January 22, 2006 Sounds like a good idea if you ask me. Maybe at the beginning of the thread, there can be directions on how to post pictures because that frustrates many people from not being able to post.
