What a glorious beautiful day out with Mrs. BilletHead. No wind to speak of, warm and the river had cleared up nicely. Air temp when we started at 7 AM was 55, water temp 59. When we quit back at the ramp air temp 71 and water temp of 62. We threw two and a half inch to three and a half inch clousers. Gray over white and chartreuse over white half and half's. We literally caught so many fish we were tired. 60 to 70 easy but get this all were males. Could not find a female one. We caught them from a foot deep to maybe three foot at the most. It did not matter where you cast. To the bank or in the middle. Had some bust the clouser as we stripped and lifted on the surface at the back of the boat. There was one little pocket where we had several doubles on at the same time. When they hit these little males would literally yank the rod in your hands. Picked up a 18nch walleye amongst the whites. Farther down river twenty crappie some little ones grabbing the three inch flies. Kept four to go with the walleye and invited them all to dinner. We will release them to the grease. Turn them loose in Crisco bay. The new boat is doing great. Goes just where I need it to. Watched eagles and listened to turkeys as we fished. I am so lucky.
