All in all it was a really nice day for fishing although the heat and humidity was pretty unbearable at times. On a side note, it looked like a lot more people were floating the Courtois today as when we got to the junction of the two creeks an influx of kayaks was heading out of the Courtois. Scotia was an all out circus. Kids jumping off the upstream side of the low water bridge and floating under it (water level was about a foot or so under the bridge), probably 100 people or so just lounging in the water, and it surprised me (well really not) to see two jetboats that had made their way up the Huzzah from the Meramec. Sorry, but that creek is too small and pristine for jetboats to be on it, even in the higher water. I'm sure if the low water bridge wasn't there they would have headed up even farther.
Here's the 17.5"er and some pictures of the creek.
