  1. I was thinking the same thing (about offshore and deeper structure). Read the Berkley advertisement with Boyd Duckett in BASS Times today. He talked about catching the smaller bass in the post-spawn in shallow water. He said too find the bigger females you have to look at deeper structure on the main lake. Pomme obviously has some deep, clear water with plenty of structure. There's got to be a few bigger fish to be caught out there.
  2. We ended up second in our tournament. 8 of the 13 boats had a limit (little over 10#'s won it). We caught fish all day long (though the bite slowed considerably after lunch). Caught most of our fish in the bushes on the main lake points and flats - all close to deeper water. All of our fish came on plastics - some with a wacky worm and some on brush hogs. We broke 5 fish off on hooksets (I had some knot problems apparently). Would have liked to have caught a couple of those to see how big they were (not saying they were huge, but probably a little better than a lot of the 12" fish we went through).
  3. What part of the lake were you fishing (Pomme or Lindley Arm)? Were you on the main lake of back in a creek or cove? I'm having a hard time deciding where to start this weekend.
  4. Ran over there yesterday afternoon to prefish for a tourney next weekend. Didn't fish very long (lake was crowded) but caugt some fish up in the bushes on texas rigs and topwaters both. Fished a little bit in deeper water - but didn't catch much. Anybody know how fast they are planning to drop the lake?
  5. Got a tournament tomorrow. Was planning on running up the Niangua and fishing a little cleaner water. I haven't fished the Niangua much and certainly not right after this much rain. How dirty is it going to be now??
  6. Fished out of Masters yesterday. Caught a bunch of fish - not many keepers. Biggest went almost 4 pounds. Caught them on spooks, jigs, t-rigged plastics, and spinnerbaits in the wind. Just one of the fish had a blooddy tail. Water was 64-66 everywhere we went.
  7. Fished it yesterday too in a smaller tournament. We didn't catch nearly that number of fish but did catch 8 keepers. Just didn't have much size to them. Caught them on baby brush hogs, shakey head finesse worms, spook, and jig. Fished mainly points but did fish a couple of pockets too. Lot of boats on the water.
  8. Good to see you catching some fish in that area of the lake. My family has a cabin at the 51 MM on the Osage - right at Coffman Marina. We were down last Saturday and struggled big time. We went on down the lake towards Bollinger Creek and fished in that area all day. Did you spend most of your time around the 60's MM?
  9. Can anybody tell me what the water color/visibility is like right now in this area? Thanks!
  10. Went down at the last minute this week. Got to fish about 2 hours Thursday night, 6 on Friday, and about 3 1/2 before heading home on Saturday. Spent most of my time in Long Creek. I didn't fish on the main lake much - instead went to the back halves of the creeks and fished channel swings. Caught a lot of aggressive Kentucky's, mostly on spinnerbaits (though also on a Wiggle Wart and craw tubes). I did catch a 5 pound large mouth on Thursday night on a ledge in about 10' of water. Hit an Omega Jig (only fish on a jig the whole trip). Did manage to catch a couple of fat Kentucky's as well on the trip (spinnerbaits on the same ledge, on a flat secondary point, and a football jig in 16' of water on a main lake point). Water temps were anywhere from 50 to 56. Put in all three days at the State Park where the water was clear. Ran down to the state line Saturday and had about 6" of visibility (after Friday afternoon's rain). The water in Big Cedar was brown Thursday but had cleared a lot by Saturday morning. This was only the second time I've been on Table Rock and had never fished anything but Beardsley in this arm. Ended up doing a lot of running around checking spots. There were a lot of boats up Long Creek Saturday morning.
  11. Fished Stockton today (only second time I've been on the lake). Put in by the dam and didn't go too far (4-5 miles). Caucht a few fish - all towards the backs of big coves/creeks on channel banks or secondary points. Threw wiggle warts, jerkbaits, and jigs all day. Water temp was anywhere between 42.5 and 45. Wind made fishing in a few spots pretty tough but found several spots where the wind wasn't as bad.
  12. Thanks for the info - certainly interesting. The majority of fish I caught there last year were certainly in the smaller class. Should make the next few years a lot better.
  13. What's the water temp this weekend?
  14. Thanks! That is exactly what I was looking for.
  15. It's generally going to be colder than the Gravois/dam area. Water clarity can vary greatly I think. With some rain, it's going to get really muddy. Never clears up as much as the dam area I don't think. Very popular spot though - lots of people fish in there.
  16. Is there any place to find the water levels from previous years. Curious what the lake level normally is around the first of April.
  17. I'm planning on coming in early March. We actually got married in Eureka Springs, been back several times since. Hadn't thought about that being so close. Is the Kings as clear as the White or is there some more color to it?
  18. I'm planning on coming down to Table Rock in about a month. Never fished the lake before (normally fish LOZ, Pomme, and Truman). I've been on here and other sites reading and gathering as much info as possible. I'm not sure where to start. Looked a lot at the Shell Knob area and the Long Creek area. I'd prefer to throw a jerkbait and wiggle wart if the conditions allow. Never fished for smallmouth much - so the Long Creek area intrigues me (also closer to stuff to take the wife to in the evenings). I've also heard that the Upper White warms faster and is a good place to start in early spring (but it's a little farther off the beaten path). I've looked into some cabins in Shell Knob too. Anyway - just looking for some advice on where might be the best place to go at this time of year (assuming weather conditions are normal).
  19. Thanks for posting last year's seminar. Listened to it twice and have really gained a lot from it! Looking forward to this year's. Thanks!
