  1. Would trade for a Tatula, Fuego or higher end Daiwa and would add cash if there is a value difference. Keep getting offered LH reels on another site, wish I could make that work!
  2. Good post, thank you! Do you have a different color on that A-rig for the middle/longer bait? Just started throwing one and have seen a lot of guys reccomend either a darker color or larger bait or something different to make one stand out.
  3. e100 Spta Right hand 6.3-1 Brand new in box, got it for Christmas and think I want to get a Tatula or another Fuego. Never on a rod ro spooled, just opened. $90 shipped in MO/AR. Would also trade plus cash for a higher end Daiwa if you are interested.
  4. Just got my first order of Jigs yesterday, everything looks good. Have so many more things to try this winter. Looking forward to trying them out once duck season is over......
  5. I had never stopped to watch at the Outlet like Phil did, so I tried it Saturday morning as I was leaving. Didn't stay very long, but I think his 75% snagging number is spot on. Fishing was okay this weekend in the dark, didn't have much luck once the sun came up and the crowds descended on the Trophy area. Stripping soft hackles was the best for me, but most folks were fishing indicators. Did talk to a first timer from OK that was stripping a grey scud, never seen that before. Watched him catch a couple that way. Interesting.... Seemed like a lot of people in general down there this weekend, not sure what was in town that drew so many people. Sights were still beautiful and still a great time of the year to be down there.
  6. A week from right now I will probably in the fly shop with my 5 year old looking for Tippet as soon as we hit town. She has watched enough Jackson videos between trips that she just has to go see him at least a couple times every trip, now this. Phil is a marketing genius......
  7. I ran in to a guy that launched when I did later on in the morning. He said everything he caught was in the 8ft range, couldn't buy a bite up shallow. We didn't get as far as comparing colors. I didn't really try out deeper, I see high water up in the bushes and get tunnel vision.
  8. Headed back out again this morning. Water clarity improved, but still up. Real slow to start, downsized to a 1/8oz green pumpkin swim jig and caught a few early. No frog bite at all. About 8am I picked up the larger jig again and for about 30 min had a blast. Either right on the outside of the weed line or real shallow in pocket's of weeds. Very cool.
  9. MOSmallies was spot on. I tried hollow body frog (they kept missing it) then a Chartruse Spinnerbait, finally started catching them around 800am on a brown/orange swim jig. At 830 I caught what I believe is my best ever Largemouth. No scale or tape in the boat, but trolling motor controller is 10" across.
  10. What changes do you make in condition like this where we are seeing high, muddy conditions? Talking Largemouth's in small impoundments specifically.
  11. Anyone fish the tournaments last weekend? Was curious what it took to win.......
  12. I had a good buddy say pretty much the same thing. Thinking I my have to sell my duck hunting boat and approach the purchase with more adequate funds.... Thanks for the input, you are always very knowledgeable and I appreciate the help!
  13. Is there a good source of rebuilt or solid used outboards in Missouri? Looking at an older bass boat without a motor, wondering if there was a good place to start searching. Probably a 2 stroke in the 150Hp range, nothing too new (or expensive). Live around Columbia, so LOZ and St Louis/KC are pretty easy to get to for me. Thank you!
  14. Anyone have an update? This doesn't sound good......
  15. Wish I had seen this before I ordered, if I did it this way I would have saved about $20. That was that was pretty much what BP guy was trying to sell me. Wish I was more knowledgeable in this area. Appreciate the help guys, thank you.....
  16. Thanks, just ordered the Minn Kota 60A Circuit breaker. Hope to install this weekend. Bass Pro in Columbia doesn't carry Minn Kota parts, that was interesting. Just Motor Guide. Appreciate the help
  17. Adding a Minn Kota Powerdrve V2 50# 12V bow mount on my 17ft Grizzly. Do you guys generally use a fuse block between battery and motor? Any other suggestions on making life easier when hooking this up? Thank you, Dave
  18. Guy I spoke with said to run up to the Lock and anchor.  Throw crankbaits and bounce them off the bottom.  I didn't get specifics on colors or styles regretably, but I do want to try it again soon.

Good luck and let me know if you do any good!

    Dave

  19. That was odd, between the wind and backflow from MO it probably wasnt anything like what it normally fishes like. I am going to try it again, it was enough to peak my interest even if the catching wasn't nearly as good as the company........
  20. Okay, I finally got out Friday 5/1 late morning to check it out. Went up to the Lock first, water was high so easy trip for a newbie. One boat was anchored up there fishing, but didn't get close enough to see what he was doing. Fished east side of the bank most of the way back down to the boat launch, throwing a little of everything trying to find Bass. Not much going on, looked interesting with a lot of trees and vegatation in the water but no luck. Ran down to the mouth of the Maries and fished bank on both sides and back up the east side until we were across from the launch again. Not sure I learned much outside of a fascinating conversation with a friendly gentleman as we were pulling out who gave me some Hybrid tips for the next trip. Helix 5 is down, so I was fishing a little blind, hope to have that going next trip to aid in figuring out what I should be doing......
  21. Finally get a couple days off to fish late next week, want to launch at Mari Osa. Mainly Bass fishing, would appreciate any pointers? Brother is coming down from Mich and promised him some water he hadn't seen before......
  22. After nice the warm days coming on Thur & Friday, I may try to get out Saturday for the first time. I am sure I won't be the only one, if anyone gets out before me please leave a report. Not even sure what to target at this time of year, but you really can't pass up that nice of weather!
  23. Can you elaborate a little? I have a '10 Mercury 25hp 4 stroke on my 1754 Grizzly. First boat in a while, did not realize the 4 strokes were that much shorter lived. Even with good maintenance schedule and care?
  24. Anyone else see the Tanneycomo map and how guide Mr Babler put together in Jan issue of Mid West Outdoors? Well done! I can see that laminated and posted all over Branson
  25. Okay, I know where McDonalds is, don't remember a Gentelmans Club there but I don't get up on the strip much since they re-routed 54. Thank you Marcus! Thinking if the forecast holds for next weekend I may go down one morning and fish off shore a bit. If anyone has suggestions for this time of year I would love to hear them....
