I threw it under a lit dock at night last summer and White bass were hammering it. Caught some 3lb females with it. Those hooks are so sharp.

Yeah 5. I'm starting with cheapest solution first. Then working my way up. Did you ever check your vst filter to see if it was clean?

I went with the Yamaha Transom support and those clips that go on the hydraulic steering.

Thanks Addiction. I took it out the other day for the second time since I bought it. It died on me and I can't get bulb to stay hard. The guy I bought it from only put about 10 hrs on it in the last 2 years. Im afraid that there is some bad gas,clogged lines,clogged vst filter or the one of the low pressure fuel pumps are bad. Ive been doing research and it could be a task tracking down the problem. The short time I did get to use it was awesome. It only has 145hrs on it and the previous owner treated fuel and changed bulb before I bought it. Hopefully it's something minor. Thankfully I haven't sold my ranger yet, so I can still go fishing:-)

Any recommendations on a new generation transom saver. It will be going on a Yamaha hpdi 250. Someone tried to tell me they are hard on the boats transom. Is this true? Thanks guys.

Sounds like I just didn't throw it enough. Next time I will commit more time to throwing it.

Got my butt kicked at Beaver last night by guys throwing spinnerbaits. I threw it some with no luck. I threw it around brush piles mostly. I was using a War Eagle 3/8oz Colorado blade in black. Any suggestions on where to throw it,how to fish it and the right size to ? Thanks guys.

Yeah. I've been trying to talk my wife into a newer boat. She is a tough nut to crack. Until she gives in I will continue to rock the ole 492 as long as I can.
