For those who were wondering Nick Frakes team won it with 21lbs. We came up with 15.6. Best day I have ever had on Beaver. It was a grind today. A lot of time in between catches. We only boated 7 fish all day. Lost a few on the way to the boat. Had fun, but I'm glad to be home in the heat.
Just wanted to know what water temps are and if anybody is catching anything right now? If so what are they using and what kind of structure? Been a while since someone has posted a report. Dying for something to read about with all these days off.
Guess I won't be meeting you at the tournament Donna. My partner found out he is not going to be able to make it and my boat is missing a lower unit(thanks to beaver). Good Luck to you guys.
Between Coppermine and Rocky branch. On a flat that goes way out. It could happen anywhere out there right now. Stick to the channel and u should be fine
I have a Falcon Cara heavy cover rod also. Good rod for the money and if you break it they will replace it. Done it twice so far. As for reels I have Shimano Curados and Abu Garcia Revos. I think my revos cast better. You might look at a Revo Winch. Lower gear ratio but it has twice the drag power of the other Revos. This would help if fish is hung up in a dock or a tree. Give you a little more power to horse them out. All this being said if you are spending $600 for a rod and reel your gonna get something really good for that kind of money.
Yeah. I'm fishing in that too. If i see you guys i will come introduce myself. I hope you guys get a chance to prefish for me:-) Beaver got my lower unit a couple of Saturdays ago so i won't be out there til the tournament. Jig bite has been good out there around docks with a steep drop. Especially with wood around them. Haven't thrown jerkbait much. Been forcing that wiggle wart on em. Curious if this cold front is gonna put em where they should be finally. Good Luck.
Hope everyone is having a great time with thier families. Looking forward to a better year of fishing in 2013. This year has been the toughest I can remember. Have a safe Holiday Season.
Have you ever tried throwing an Alabama rig at these Stripers. I did last year and had a blast. Just drove around til i saw them on the graph and start chucking.

There is no way you can get up river putting in at twin bridges. It was impassable last year in a Bass Tracker. I bet neals bluff area would be pretty good right along that channel swing.
Oh boy. Someone opened this can of worms again. Get ready for another heated debate. My thoughts have changed a lot. I thought it would dominate the fishing world. Not as great as i previously thought it would be. Still have one though and throw it on ocassion.
Champ. Is there a particular area of Beaver you would start at to throw the wart? I have been fishing from Prairie Creek to point 12. Should i be going the other way this time of year due to falling water temps in the rivers? Just trying to figure em out.
Champ. Do you have to modify those McSticks very much or are they good out of the box? Do you use floro or mono? I have heard both sides if that arguement. I use floro. Just curious what other anglers are using? Has any one been catching em on a jerkbait with any regularity yet? I wonder if wiggle wart bite is gonna get any better or just stay the way it is and skip it. Last year they were pummeling the wart. This year they are not as agressive it seems.
