  1. I have had luck in the past using 1/4oz medium bill with a white fluke. There are certain times when the Bass just can't get enough off them. I was fishing a winter series tournament last year and caught LM,SM,KY and even a Striper that went around 15lbs. all with a Scrounger. Great lure. Very versatile. Catches Fish.
  2. They have a video on YouTube showing a guy using his camera to get keys out of the lake. It is set to music and is pretty entertaining.
  3. Go to YouTube and check out the Fish Tv or Underwater Camera videos. They are neat.
  4. You can see fish with them under docks and logs etc. The only thing that needs to be added to the kit is a long rod to attach the camera to. The way it comes new has no way to point the camera at what you want to look at. It just free falls. We used one on Beaver and you can see fairly well with it when the water is clear. If they aren't too expensive it is a nice little tool to have.
  5. Just because someone stays on the Texas side doesn't mean you won't run into trouble. Those guys are running drugs across the lake and delivering it to the Texas side. If you are in the wrong place at the wrong time it could get ugly. When we were there two years ago the water was way up and those Mexican fisherman were netting fish on the Texas side. I was told that they can get in serious trouble with the law if they are caught. They could do something drastic to get out of trouble. I'm not saying don't go. I'm saying be careful. It just depends what a possible fish of a lifetime is worth. Choke Canyon has just as big of fish and has a 1/4 of the pressure. Check it out. Good luck on your decision and have fun.
  6. I would stay away from any lakes that are near the border of Texas/Mexico. There is some major unrest between the law and drug cartells. Choke Canyon Lake, Tx is an awesome lake. I watched a guy catch a 11lb 4oz Hawg about 50 yards from where we were fishing. If you look in Bassmaster magazine you will see a lot of big bass in the lunker section in the back that come out of this lake. Checkn out Choke Canyon Lodge online. It's a neat place to fish.
  7. Thanks for the reply. I have been going faster than no wake, but wasn't going all out either. I try to go slower the skinnier the creek gets. Kinda used common sense. Just wanted to make sure wasn't doing anything wrong.
  8. I would be too. I would hate to have my boat possibly hurt due to high winds.
  9. If my partner can't make it I would be glad to have ya. I will keep contact with you here.
  10. Hey Guys, You might want to check out baitwerks.com. This guy is awesome. He was featured in Bassmaster magazine and paints lures for Scott Rook. If you go to his website he has examples of paint jobs on all kinds of cranks and swimbaits. He is doing a special for 5 lures for $40.00 . He is out of Siloam Springs, Ar.
  11. Do you have to go slow in Aunts Creek? I always thought that the channel was open all the way back. That you couldn't go fast inside the bouys(from shoreline to bouys) Do you guys know what the rules are?
  12. Great Job! Now where did you put that fish back in? LOL.
  13. Not sure how you are using your tackle box but I recommend a backpack style. I have a Shimano backpack that comes with three plastic organizers on bottom. That bottom compartment can be removed if you want a smaller backpack on top. The top part will also hold three plastic organizers if needed. The backpack has shoulder straps and straps that go around your waist to make it more comfortable when you have a lot of gear inside. On the outside edges there are two mesh compartments that will hold beverages or you can put the butt ends of several rods in those same compartments and there are tie downs above that will tighten up to hold rods in place so you can be hands free and still carry four rods and all your gear. These are awesome if you are fishing a random draw co-angler event or if you like going to ponds or streams. You know Shimano makes good reels. So I would think these backpacks are gonna last. I have had mine for several years with no problems. Check them out. As Bill Dance would say they are as handy as a pocket on a shirt. Good Luck.
  14. I had luck last week fishing bluff ends and transition banks with my crankbaits last week. I was throwing as shallow as I could and they seem to hit at about six to eight ft. I was using a wiggle wart in craw pattern if that helps. I also tried the same thing on Beaver this week and caught nada. Might have been the weather or the fact that Beaver is hard to fish.
  15. Hey Champ. I forgot to tell you about another jig color that I was catching them on last Saturday. I tried a jig color that Chris said he ties for Stetson Blaylock of the FLW Tour. The color was a dark brown with purple tinsel. I tried it when the sun was out and didn't have much luck with it. Tried it again when it got cloudy and caught some fish with it. Looks like something Elton John might use, but it worked for me that day.
  16. Bill. I just thought I would say thank you for all the information that you do share with us. You make a living doing this and have no obligation to share the info that it would take a lifetime for others to achieve. You have nothing to prove to anyone in here or anywhere for that matter. I think I speak for everyone in here when I say that this Forum wouldn't be the same without you. Please don't let recent discussions keep you from continuing to share what you learn. Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving.
  17. Just thought that might be a good color since they like purple so much. I like buying the skirts and jigs seperate so I can try new colors. It's cheaper too. Good luck in your Tourney this weekend. I think I'm gonna fish that winter series Tourney that Mobile Marine is puttin on out of Prarie Creek.
  18. Can't we all just get along? Have a great Thanksgiving.
  19. Man that is some awesome stuff. I agree with Bill and Champ. Seems like anything that has a little bit of purple works well on TR. I was using 3/4 oz Bass-X football head jigs with a Zoom Super chunk jr. in Gr. Pumpkin purple flake. The skirt I used was Beaver craw with Purple. I caught one good Ky on a brush pile in 38 fow. I also caught them in 10 ft. If you guys like throwing a crank I caught a lot of good fish on a original wiggle wart in red craw with black back. I also hear that watermelon seed color is working too. This is a great time to catch fish.
  20. That will make you wanna go back to Table Rock. lol.
  21. I went out yesterday and fished from Aunts Creek to KC area. Fished Bluff ends, transition banks and brush piles. Caught most of my fish on a wiggle wart in a red craw pattern. Caught fish on a jig on brush piles anywhere from 15 to 38 fow. Had a good day. Caught 15 and over half were keeper size. Only caught LM and KY. No SM. I had a blast.
  22. That is awesome. I am getting one very soon.
  23. Thanks guys for your input. That helps a lot.
  24. I should have worded my question differently. I am fishing in a tournament at Lake Eufala next weekend and was just trying to get some general knowledge about them. The reason I asked in the Table Rock Forum is because they are the only Forum group that seems to have people that actually have something to add and I value you guys opinion. As for what to use on TR I agree with you. If anyone thinks these will work at Lake Eufala let me know. Sorry for the misleading question.
  25. I was wondering how many people use Chatterbaits on TR in here. I have always used spinnerbaits. They also have chatterbaits made by Phenix that are dark colors with dark blades and use swim Senko or craw type trailers. Has anyone used these Phenix Vibrator Jigs? If so how do you like them and how do you fish them. Are chatterbaits able to be fished in a lot of brush? Do they get hung up easy? Sorry if I sound like a rookie I'm just trying to diversify my arsenal if there is a need for it. Thanks for any input folks.
