  1. The White River on Beaver Lake when they are running up stream, we smoke em with Lucky Craft RC 1.5. Chartruese Perch color. Speed traps are great too. This year I am going to try the Scrounger jig with a tiny fluke on it. Those scroungers flat out catch fish.
  2. I am a big fan of Bass Pro. I live in Bentonville, Ar and the closest one is an hour and a half away. I love taking my time and looking at everything that is fishing related. It gives you a chance to actually put your hands on something and really check it out. Electronics at BPS is one of my favorites because they have them hooked up and running so you can make a better buying decesion even if you don't buy it at BPS. The last few times I have been I was pleasently surprised at the knowledge of the employess that I talked to. As for knowledge on a reel. You could go to Basspro.com and click on each reel they usually have several reviews on every reel that the sell. After you narrow it down come back here and ask peoples opinion. I think there are some people in this Forum that have forgotten more about fishin than I will ever know. Go to BPS an make sure you allow plenty of time because you will find yourself wanting to stay all day and soak it in. It's nice just being around people that have the same intrests as you. Just don't spend too much money there. It's hard to have self control in that place. Have Fun and welcome back to the USA.
  3. They are not the same lure if you put them next to each other. I have talked to people that have fished both and they said the LC was catching them 5 to 1 over H20 lure. As far as Lucky Craft goes. I love the RC series. They have a new size this year it is a 2.0 and you also have the Skeet Reese MR series that will remind you of a speed trap. My theory on LC is that you can buy one or two of these and be confident that you can catch fish with them or you can keep buying the cheaper brands trying to find that perfect one that does produce. I think in the long run you might spend the same amount of money. That being said nothing is worse than losing a more expensive lure to a snag or hang up.
  4. I didn't get to fish. I was just lookin around at the lake. I haven't been on Beaver since they pulled the water down. After next weekend I will be fishing Beaver a lot.
  5. Thats what I thought but the guy working at Hook Line and Sinker said Justin was working at the Bella Vista store so it couldn't have been him.
  6. Saw a Hefty boat by Hwy 12 bridge so I went to Prarie Creek ramp to confirm it was him and sure enough it was. I was curious why he would fish Beaver instead of somewhere else? Here is a pic of his truck.
  7. I agree with you on that one. Aaron and Chris are awesome and they share a lot of knowledge with u to help you catch more fish. You are not going to find that at Academy. That being said there are some things that Academy has that HLandS doesn't and vica verse. I think that people who fish a lot will be dissapointed in their selections. The one in Ft.Smith has a terrible jig selection. Hook line on the other hand has an awesome selection. I think Academy will help HLS once people see the difference in service.
  8. Thank you guys for all of your help. I really appreciate it and I will take this knowledge and use it next weekend. I will let you know how it goes. Between my partner and me, we will have a lot of colors and brands to experiment with. Thanks again Fellas!
  9. When u say they were where they were supposed to be do you mean you caught them by docks, points or somewhere else? Do you remember what the depth was? Is the Gravois a better place to fish than closer to the dam? Was the water dingy or clear? What was the water temp? Thanks for all your help.
  10. I have had conflicting theories on what colors to use. I have heard silver with black is good. I also heard that gold with black back is awesome there. I was told that a pro blue color or tenn. shad color is good too. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am also curiuos to know if you recommend deep diving or a regular depth jerkbait? Thanks for your input.
  11. The Shimano Sedona 2500 is an excellent choice. It is around $59.00 and has some of the same features as Shimano's more expensive reels. I have one on a st.croix mojo rod and have caught more fish on this rod and reel than all of my other set ups.
  12. Thanks. Any fish being caught?
  13. Swepco is running. The fish are spawning right now so the discharge action is slow. I went to fish there 2 saturdays ago and there were so many people fishing in tournaments I had to wait in line to put my boat in. It took 45min!! There was still 20 boats behind me after I put in. I recommend you go during the week if possible. If not, get there before 6:15 so you can beat the tourneys that start at seven. It has been very foggy the last few times I have been so be careful.
  14. I talked to someone who is supposedly going to work there and he said late august was when it was going to open. I went to the one in Ft.Smith today and they had Quicksilver Premium Plus 19.99 a gal. Good deal.
  15. Anyone know what the water temp. is at LOZ? I am hoping to fish in Central Pro-Am team tourney on March 7th. Is there still ice?
  16. My name is Jason. I live in Bentonville, Ar. I am glad to be a part of this forum and look forward to everyone's advice and expertise on fishing in the Ozarks. Thanks to the administrator for letting me be a part of Ozark Anglers. Here are some fish that I have caught at Beaver,Table Rock and Swepco. The other picture is with Skeet Reese at Dardenelle.
