ruthead replied to Phil Lilley's topic in Upper Lake Taneycomo
Thanks for the report Phil. This will help subdue my hankerin to be fly fishin for a few more days. Only 2 weeks more to wait! -
Good luck and have fun. 7 days would be great yes!!
-
Guess those 2 guys WERE too busy catchin fish!!
-
Yep, son rattled in a nice one this morning but was never presented with a shot. I understand...... And I'm 200+ miles away

Saw faint glimmers with the bigs but I think JB, Clarkson, and Ross r gonna be the offense. Defense was not impressive at all tonight. Not movin their feet. Clark can play but his handcheckin is gonna have to stop or he'll b spectatin a lot. Maybe JIII will give us some good minutes with maturity. Really Hate to say this but flipped to the KU game and they're on a whole nother level. I hate that!!

Either the fishing is so good you all don't want to tell anybody or it's so poor you don't want to talk about it. OR ur so busy fishin u don't have time to post. LOL Whichever it is, for a guy that still has 2+ weeks to wait for his "Black Friday Weekend Fishin Trip" is sure is hard seein threads an pics slow down on here. Thanks to all of you that do let us poor saps that can't get down there fish through ur posts! (16 days and counting!)

Sorry that didn't paste like I thought it would.

Didn't feel real good about our ability to score with TAM but see below .... I think our offense is nearly as good if not as good as theirs with Franklin hittin like he was before the injury(and still close with MM). The defense will probably be the deciding factor and I think we got the edge there. Just watched the entire video. EXCELLENT!!!!! Should of been workin but took an hour out of my day to watch it and very glad I did. Very small sacrifice compared to these Veterans, as well as many others, huge sacrifices. A very heartfelt THANKS to all Veterans both retired and currently serving!!!!!!! Thanks Brian S. for the links.

Maybe next summer. Pretty long trip for short period of time. I like the vacant part! Last time at Taney had a guy moved in front of us that thought he owned the place. When I voiced my displeasure with him he wanted to "take it to the bank". Think we'll be there too. Anything particular I need to tie up for the trip??
-
Sorry but what is DA?? Any advice on fishing the Current outside the park??
-
Total browns I've ever caught can be counted on ur fingers. 18 years of bows. Hate seeing a fish floatin. I guess I'd just hate it if I tried to gently persuade on in too long and it builds up too much LA. I guess the part of ur statement "drag me into the shallows" would be the key??
-
Me, wife, and our 3 sons. Youngest is 13 so no special considerations there(except wading in deep water as he 5'4"). Where to the northeast ya thinkin fw?
-
So where does one go to get educated on the proper handling of a Brown when caught in low DO conditions? I understand the excessive handling but could probably use some direction on one being fought to hard.
-
We're starting a new tradition this year of a Trout trip the 3 days after Thanksgiving. We have a place at Bennett and go there several times through the summer. With the small size of the fish this year there we thought we might try somewhere else. Ben to Taneycomo a couple times this year and to Roaring River. Never been to Montauk. If you could go those 3 days where would it be and why.

Lilleys' Lake Taneycomo Halloween Fishing Report
ruthead replied to Phil Lilley's topic in Upper Lake Taneycomo
Thanks a bunch for sharing for those of us who can't be there to see it. Someday I'll get to witness it in person. -
Oh Man.....I remember evry one of those games. Hopefully a long lost era. Yep...that's what I choose to believe.
-
I think we'll see a much more calm and collected Mauk this weekend. That was a pretty tough situation to get thrown into. Our 3rd quater "D" was not real impressive. Can't be having a bad quarter of "D" these next 3 games.

Two New ( To Me) To Try Out For The Deer Battery.
ruthead replied to Gatorjet's topic in Weapon Discussions
Not to steal the post but I got a question about the 94 and sounds like you guys have knowledge of them. I have an old one my grandfather gave me 94-32. Have played around with it over the years and killed a few deer with it. 2 of my boys killed their first deer with it. Whats the difference in the pre and post 64 referred to in the initial post? I'm pretty sure this one would be pre 64. -
I agree with Al. We're gonna see how good the play calling is as their ability to call plays Mauk is capable of executing will be tested. May have to dumb it dumb down just a bit in the beginning. If so then the question becomes is our offense dominant enough to score with a more basic strategy? Another thing to remember is Mauk was a very good passing qb as well as quicker that Franklin. Maybe we'll be a more versatile offense, maybe. Look how we move the ball with the 10-15 yd passes. a buddy has a son at MU and he has watched Mauk throw very good in the mid-range passing at practices. i just don't think it's all doom and gloom yet.
-
Yea, that 5'7" running back had over 100 yds. Inexperienced receivers and our D getting pressure on the QB hopefully equals turnovers. Bad routes, tipped balls could go in our(MU) favor. I hope Franklin got those INT's out of his system. We've got more offensive weapons this year than I ever remember. Running backs and receivers galore and a healthy offensive line. Best running game in the SEC right now. One of the best D lines, good linebackers and adequate D backfield. I really think it will all add up to a victory for the Tigers. Of course I've thought that many times over the last 40 years but I think this time I've got lots of stats and facts backin me up.

Is it because more people are fishing the small stuff? Or is it directly proportionate to the number of people throwing big stuff or people throwing small stuff?
