Sounds good except for the low water. We'll b there for 8 or 9 days next week. Lookin forward to some good dry flyin.
Been told more than once I was standin where I should be fishin! Thanks for the report.
searched for over an hour and found nothing. Searched droppers and no answer there. Not real easy to find specifics on there sometimes.
Thanks for the link mic but didn't see it addressed in there either.
Got a brother-in-law that says it's not legal and unless I can show him in print he will maintain he is right!
Where can I find the regulations for Bennett? I was told you could not fish a dropper fly in the park. Got to thinkin I ought ta read the rules and regs.
Thanks Oneshot! Think we'll try all u suggested as we'll b there for 9 or 10 days. We'll also keep an eye out for ur son. Can't quite tell what the tat is but between that and the beard we might b able to identify him. Thanks again for the help.

Headin down to Bennett next week. Hows water conditions? Didn't know if it had rained down there much lately. Anybody been down there recently? Been pretty dead on here.
Was there this past sat and sun. Told wife we'd take her for mothers day and she said let's go! Both our boys (12 and 15 years old) caught a lot of fish Sat. stripping and wife did too. I had the best day dryflyin I've had in a long time there. Sunday not a lot of people and caught a good number of fish also. Various sizes and ran bigger than the last couple of years but not like they were 3-15 years ago!
no time to run to get anything. Was wondering if a crackleback stripped would work. got muddler minnows, wollies but not really in the bright typical crappie colors. Beetles, ants and typical dry flies.
Got a chance to go crappie fishin in about 3 hours. Would like to try my flyrod but need to know what flies to try for crappie. Got lots of dry's, nymphs, scuds etc but didn't know what to try. can someone help quick?
That's only a fish every 5 minutes for 7 solid hours! As us country boys would say "That dog ull hunt". Pretty good fishin. Wish we had more time this weekend to run over and fish with ya but we'll get it done soon.

Sounds real good to someone that's not there! Appreciate the report. We're headin down this weekend for a couple days. Anxious to hear how you do today.
Hope ya get a good bend in it but don't break it!
Checked my vest and I've also got to get some tippet. Got 5x an 6x flouro leaders. Do I need flouro tippet there or mono? One size smaller than leader or same?
Mic : Prefer to ty if I have the materials but buy some too.
Loenard: Like ur first 2 suggestion. griffiths knat and cracklebacks(dry and stripping with sinking leader or is sinking line better? got both)
Just started tyin leeches but have little time fishin them. How u suggest??
Thanks guys for the help. Always tryin to learn more.
Going to make my first trip ever to Taney around the first of April. Will be fishing around rebar area. My favorite is dry fly fishin but sounds like I'm gonna learn to fish scuds and midges. What kind of action can a guy expect dry flyin then? Patterns etc. I tie my own flies so can make whats needed to fill a "Taney Dry Fly Box". Will also be makin a "Taney Scud and Midge Box" so lookin for patterns for that time of year also. Any help is sure appreciated. Worst thing is I still gotta wait 2 months but that'll give me lots a time to get ready!!
Had a great day. Thanks for the suggestions. Son caught a nice one 3-3 1/2 lbs on a muddler minnow. See attached photo. What strain of trout is this? Had the hook on the lower jaw and was very red. Alot thicker and wider than it looks in the pics. I even caught 14 on dry flies mostly on Elk Hair Caddis And some on a black wooly bugger stripped.
Strippin with sinking leader on the cracklebacks? Green and grizzly is one of my favs. 19" brown is my largest and would like to better that Friday. With all this good advice maybe I will. Thanks and I'll be checking back in tonight for any last minute suggestions. Anybody fish today it'd be good to here how it went. Pullin out at 3:30 in the am so probly hit the sack early tonight but will check here before we leave I'm sure.
Is it safe to assume fishing scud, fur bugs etc in am and throwing dry fly in the pm? I just know I'll have to tie on a caddis or something sometime during the day. What about stripping crackle backs? Never trout fished after August before so this is all new to me. Thanks for the help!!
