  3. BS is really begening to become a trophey class walleye lake. If anyone needs proof of that google where the next world record walleye may come from, they list 5 lakes with BS being 1 of the top 3. The lake is also starting to get a fair perch fishing, you crappie fisherman may want to taste a perch they just may make you a cold weather fisherman. If the State wants to do something to help the number of tourist to the lake help the local business owners to develope the area and not allow the boat ramps and camping areas to be flooded 3 months out of the year. BS is a good lake when you can fish it, when its not 50ft over or 10ft below. Hell throw afew of my illinois river flying asian carp in that sucker then you all can start "arial bow fishing" like we do here.
  4. K dock has bait and a flush toilet, and a really good breakfast menu. Try them all
  5. What is everyones favorite bait for whites? spoons, jigs, live, bait gulp, what seems to catch you the most whites?
  6. I gotta say the Offshore Mini boards are the stuff. Very light weight and you dont need to buy heavy trolling rods, they work great on any spinning or bait caster rig. The other thing they work good for is bank fishing in current, they really get it out there with little resistance and disconect to fight fish not the board. They work well with the offshore tadpoles as well.
  7. the record is alittle over 1 lb. I wish we would have known that, i could tell you what the fellets weight when i cook them, dose that count? Same thing happened to me with a drum, i kicked a South Dakota state record drum off my boat after my fishing "buddys" measured it calling me the " little drummer boy", the old state record was 36 lbs, my was 42#,we found that out later as the ribbing continued, the game warden i talked to said bass pro or cabelas would have probally paid around $50000 to have it.I didnt know the perch was an angler or it would still be swimming, gotta return the big ones!
  8. Fished out of the k dock area for 10 - 12 hrs a day for the last 4 days, that didn't suck. The fishing was not bad either fished 25-45 fow and pulled a tottal of 7 nice 18-24" eyes. All fat and hungry. We trolled gold spinner blades with 1 1/2oz bottom bouncers and they we bitting shinners 2 to 1 over crawlers right on the drop offs from 25 to 45 fow. Most fish were pulled in when the harness was dropping off the shelf. Lake temp dropped from 77.9 deg on thursday morning to 73.5 today (sunday)at 11 am. My father in law also caught a 13" yellow perch that he will be regestering as a master angler, we did catch about 20 perch on the trip as well most of them were out of the Barker hole area but small.
  9. Jason also try the okuma outfits, there reasonably priced and work great, if you are trolling alot ive started using the "tadpoles" by offshore tackle, to me they work so much better than dipsey divers. I took them to lake erie and out fished the dipsey diver 2 to 1. They just dont stir up the water like dipseys, and you can use them with a spinner harnes as well.
  10. Im on my way down on sept 30th to help my father in law find afew more spots to fish around k dock. He's one of those guys who is afraid to do into the deep end of the pool or to get away from the line of sight from the dock. Im wondering if anyone can please help me with afew "HOT" spots that i can try to get him into close to K dock. Thanks
