Won't start looking for blinds to set up till about 2 weeks before season myself as you never where the lake level will be come duck season on Bull Shoals . Made that mistake twice, one year the 2 blinds I had built were 6 foot under water, best season to date tho and the other the water dropped 5 foot leaving me on a dry flat 75 yds plus across to the water edge. Won't really start getting things ready till about the end of Sept first of Oct. but will be doing quite a bit of pre-season scouting while fishing .

Mentioned earlier this year that I was looking at getting a new pup and decided to bite the bullet and go with another yella dawg, although I was giving the Brits and Boyk's alot of thought, came down to the longer hair and cockleburs . Here's ShellB, 9 weeks old and is showing the potential of being a solid retrieving machine. Got her at 6 weeks and had her crate trained, potty trained, and sitting within the first week. Just letting her be a pup for the most part working on obedience with sit, stay, come, down, and heal with play bumpers and wings mixed in for fun. 6 weeks old. With the wing. This afternoon with the deadfowl trainer for the first time. "Come on lets go"

Was fishing on Taneycomo yesterday across from the scenic overlook off of Y Hwy and seen a drake and a hen BWT on the water. First ones I've seen in the area this time of the year and got me to thinking if we might have a breeding pair on the Como. Really cool seeing the drake in full plumage as that's a rare sight around here. Seen a few Woodies, Mallards, and geese already with lil ones in tow.

Have to say if I don't fill a tag myself this year that this has been one of the most memorable turkey seasons so far for me. Its not about the kill as it about the experience and sharing it with others. First off had the pleasure of taking a friend from works 12 year old son during the youth weekend. Not the big bird we were hoping for but gave him the option of shooting or waiting and he chose to shoot. 2 jakes came in to the dekes at 15 yds and he dropped one of them in his tracks. Got out of the blind to get the bird and about 80 yds in the other direction was a big ol' tom struttin', never knew he was there as he was around a corner and never gobbled. We were both pumped and bummed at the same time. The smile on his face, high fives, and the thanks made it all worth it. Second hunt was this past Tuesday with one of my 19 year old sons (Alex). Got into the field about 15 min's later than I wanted to and wasn't able to get set up where I wanted to. Sat there till about 6:45 when the farmer starts coming thru the gates checkin' on cattle. Never heard a gobble or hen puttin', so had Alex pick up the dekes and we would check a powerline cut. He gets back into the tree line where we were set up when I look down towards the powerline about 100 yds from us when I see a strutter and another tom with him. tell him to take the jake mobile deke and crawl towards the tom staying behind the deke. he get about 20 yds and the tom spots him and comes almost running to him. gets to just under 10 yds and alex is able to drop the dekes shoulder his gun and drop the tom in his tracks.

The shaft is approx. 43 inches from the base of the head unit to the top of the motor. The cable is approx. 60 inches from the front of the pedal to head unit. The TM was used on my 1860 G3.

Both screws weren't even hand tight so I'm guessing that was a good thing? Popping the head off took a coaxing tho with a rubber mallet and x2.

Figured out that they are the cylinder head anodes. pulled both out and appears that they just corroded?

Replacing the head gasket on the yamaha and when we pulled the head off noticed the 2 triangle pieces next to center cylinder are cracked. Pulled one out and its all bbusted. Also what should the head bolts be torqued to when we start to put it back together. Th. ks

If you could take one trip to hunt waterfowl where would it be? A dream trip/season for me would be to start in Alaska cutting thru Canada, down thru the Dakotas and continuing on south following the migration and ending up in Argentina. Also been thinking another waterfowling trek would be to start on the northeast coast and work my way across the U.S. to the west coast just targeting one of each legal species. Also what birds would be on that bucket list? Mine would have to be the Harlequin, Surf Scooter, and Old Squaw.
