  2. that's awsome FnF, always said the best camo would be a any color metal flake bass boat.
  3. Didn't we just talk about that the other day DD about one of the reason I don't hunt the Como as much as I used to . Been a problem for sometime well before DC, just some people have no respect or ethics. Buddy and I were just talking about that yesterday with theses DC wanabes thinking just because they watch the show, buy all their gear, grow some facial hair, that all of sudden their duck hunters. Will admit that I do watch the show and find it entertaining but it is just that entertaining.
  4. Hunted stockton this morning and although we (3 of us) had the opportunity to shoot this morning we didn't see but maybe 20 ducks total while hunting. Drove all the lake hit a few creeks and didnt see very many birds at all, a few here and a few there but no concentration of them anywhere???? Checked a few fields in the area and didn't see any that were being used that we could tell. Drove around bull shoals this afternoon and only saw one small flock 20-30 infront of k-dock on the old boat ramp flat. Still a few of the bigger ponds open down here this afternoon but guessing they won't be in the morning but only seen one pond that had 13 mallards and 3 gads on it, the other 4 that I seen that were open didn't have a duck on them. Didn't make it up to beaver creek, but snapps and cedar creek looked pretty bare from what I could see from my driveup spots, 2 hooded mergansers back in cedar creek. There were a bunch of geese about right off of 65 at the tracker plant in ozark this afternoon
  5. Good report FnF. Our biggest problem this season for us big water and river hunters is we haven't had a freeze that's lasted more than 3 days. Just when it starts to get good and it warms right back up.
  6. Hunted BS this morning and only seen a pair on mallards in 2 and a half hours of sitting. They worked perfect and managed to drop the greenhead and let the hen go. Only heard one other shot and that was across the lake from me thinking at the hen as that was the direction she went and it was long after I shot. Thought it would of been a lot better atleast in seeing birds. Just got in from driving my scouting loop and seen maybe a dozen ducks total, hoping the freeze tonight will push the birds off the ponds and put em on the rivers/lakes. From what I'm hearing still lots of duck up north and now that those seasons are over their not being pressured. Also hearing reports of lots of birds just west in kansas.
  7. Yep yep.
  8. Very nice and great music selection to compliment it. Hopefully a few stuck around to play for the last week.
  9. Sorry missed it, sure it was a goodun.
  10. Open, just don't plan on using the ramp dock as it's (was sunday) sitting about 6 foot above the water
  11. Always sad to hear when someone losses their hunting companion. Lost my yellow dawg a couple years ago and it hit me a lot harder than I ever thought it would ended up burying her in the spot where she made her last retrieve and everytime I hunt there I give the first duck after shooting time a pass in her memory. That was a long night of going back thru all the pics and the flood of memories.
  12. Hard to tell but the dawg on the left is a chocolate and is the daughter of the black lab on the right. That was pretty awsome hunt, ducks didn't cooperate all that well but geese sure made it exciting.
  13. Very nice Billethead.
  14. ....... I'd probably still chase waterfowl but sure wouldn't enjoy the Lords grace and splendor near as much doing so. Just a couple of the sunrises that I was blessed to witness so far this season. Also a couple pics of da black dawg .
  15. Thanks Phil. I think I can handle the mud on the equiptment better than all the sand that seems to find its way into everything.
  16. Been seeing them for about a week now, just couldn't get them to work worth a darn. With the lack of cover and birds that have been around for alil while they pick out things that don't look right quick, like the bumps on the mud flats that weren't there before .
  17. Finally got into some birds that actually wanted to play. Had the opportunity to be limited out by 8:30.but thanks to the fine shooting exhibition put on by all involved we were only able scratch out 14 by 11am before we decided to call it. All gaddies, didn't see a single mallard and only seen one small flock of gwt before shooting light. Did see a few hooded mergs but never really offered us a shot. All in all had a good morning spent with good friends and so far has been the best hunt I've had this season.
  18. Gonna have to try that, looks and sounds mighty tasty.
  19. Muzzle awarness should always be on everyones mind at all times, gun loaded or unloaded. Thoughts and prayers for all involved.
  20. Nice mess of birds there DD. Bull shoals has turned around as well actually seeing a few ducks got some located just need to be able to get out after them.
  21. Sweet. Congrats on the gwt
  22. Sounds like u didn't fare any better.
  23. 3 hours of sitting with the dawg and didn't see a single duck. Did see 4 geese flying towards cedar creek as I was leaving but that was it. Hunted down from beaver and wasn't expecting to see awhole lot but this is the first time in over 15 years bull shoals that I didn't atleast see a few ducks espcially this part of the season, even the ponds that usually hold some ducks were bare. Hopefully this next cold front will push some birds over this way. Will say tho that the sunrise this morning over dekes definately made the sit worth it. Oh well, there's always tomorrow
  24. Very nice DD, wish I could say it was going that well over this way. Hunted bull shoals this morning in the beaver creek area and managed to scratch out 2 gaddies of the 3 we had work. Seen maybe a dozen ducks total if that and 5 honkers. Very few and far between. Hoping that this cold front pushing thru will bring some fresh birds in.
