Plenty of shad left in the lake diamond Creek was slap full of them wednesday. The bass have been feeding heavily with shad kill and that has just curtailed in the last week. My opinion is that is what made the bite so tuff for the cat tourny along with the added pressure. We had two keeps Friday and 3 saturday. Finally figured something out Saturday late but ran outta time to fill out our limit. As this week progresses the bite should get really good on norfork. The arig should catch some fish in staging areas close to spawning areas.

They were all pretty shallow ....less than 10ft. I think mostly active feeding fish as I had to cover water to get bit. It has slowed way down the last couple trips. I dont get up that way much usually about the state line is as far as I go that way...oakland, music and up to big creek/buck creek primarily where I go.

What part of the lake were you in with those water temps. Fished a tourny out of bullshoals boat dock sat in the pouring rain. Everywhere we fished was low 50's ...stayed fairly close to the dock all day. Bite was slow for us. Been catching the smallies around point 16 area for the past month had two different tournament sacks in the 12lb range all smallies. Cant seem to figure out the green fish.

Biffle aint just a flipper!! I rode with him last year on day one and he wrecked em...had 18+ with most of his sack doing something different than flipping he has a few other tricks in his bag but he does prefer to flip if he can. From what i saw the past two days the bed fishing deal is kinda like throwing the a-rig. Alot of guys are staying with it because they know what they saw in practice and they are afraid they are gonna be beat by the other guys who are sticking with bed fish. I guess thats what a majority did in practice and they liked what they saw some have made adjustments but still not finding the bigger bite.

not everybodys bed fishing some are working other stuff. I rode with rick clunn today and he barely had 5 keepers, caught the last one in the last 10 minutes. He covered a ton of water and tried several different things. all his keepers came off of finesse gear with two being bed fish both smallies. i think he only had 3 on day one. He knew he needed a big day to make the 50 cut and was trying for a big bite, it just wasnt there. Some had better days today some slid back a little. Still no big sacks. That front really shut them down. You can see beds everywhere just not many have fish on them. Possible tomorrow and monday they could move back in and the weights will go up some.

hows that 20lb a day prediction working out? ....just messing with ya!! today was tough for most, the guy i marshaled with struggle to get 5 keepers and was doing alot of bed fishing. He said he had tons of fish spotted on beds in practice but they pulled off today and mostly just small bucks. A good freind of mine rode with a really big stick and he too had a tough day. will be interesting to see if the leaders can back up their weights from today tomorrow.

http://www.bassfan.com/army_article.asp?ID=205#.UWy-Ihzdnx4 bassfan article from brent chapman and amart... several posts on facebook from some of the bigger sticks that are having a tuff time in practice. Im sure 15 to 20 will find something consistent but i bet youll see some with a good sack on one day and struggle on another. Supposed to be storms thurs then major temp drop friday with little to no wind on sat and sunday.

thanks for the info , will check those out!!

got a club tourny on table rock in a couple weeks. Thought about pitching a tent at the campgrounds but if the weathers ugly would probably rather sleep in a bed. Looking for something relatively clean and not real fancy just a clean bed and warm shower. would be for a friday nite and saturday nite.

unless we get a heavy rain the lower end of the lake will remain clear. looking at the forcast, thunderstorms thursday with clearing skies, cooler temps, and lite winds friday, sat, and sunday. Last year the lake had better color and the field was spread out well. More than likely most of these guys will be looking for the water will some color and therefore bunching them up in the same areas. Probly be alot runing up river past lead hill and maybe up theodosia arm. Im marshall thursday and friday and possible camera boat sunday. Really looking forward to see how they do this year. Im sure a few will find some good fish but no doubt it will be a different deal than last year.

I was on a pretty good bite thursday but the wind change and lack of wind hurt me. Had three keepers, one was over 4 and caught it flipping a dock. Seems that the fish are really spread out right now and with the water being so clear on most of the lake you really need a little wind or be in a area with some color in the water. Should be a bunch moving up real soon although looks like another cold front moving in wed/thursday sometime,
