  1. All poltics were put aside when I made that post. You called Ross "JUNK" and I do believe they make a very fine quality product. Yes they were bought by 3M, and time will tell as to their quality, which I believe will not change. Now for the politics of the situation. We'd all like to see this country like it was 50 years ago and the best way to do that is to stop buying all the cheap crap from China.
  2. Yep. More crap flooding this country from China.
  3. Do a Google search for Hendrix Outdoors and try to find a home page where you can view their products. I came up with nothing. If these were such great reels, how do you find any info on them or the company that makes them? I did find a page that sells the reels but there was no info given about the reels. What are they made of? Where are they made? What about warranty repairs? At least with a Ross, you know you're buying from a reputable company that stands behind their products and you can find them if you need to.
  4. Still, no charges against the owner of the property. Let's say the feds seen drug deals on your property. Shall they have the right to snatch your land as they see fit? According to your reasoning, you can only answer YES.
  5. So the government can claim wrong doing and do a land grab whenever they feel like it.
  6. Tough on crime, yes. But nowhere in the article did it say that there are any charges to a crime against the owner of the property in question.
  7. As it stands, this is good news. For now anyway. We still need to find alternatives to lead and implement them as they become available.
  8. Hitting a rock is ok. Hitting an iceberg...
  9. Now what were the 7 words that can't be posted here without the fear of being arrested? Let's see, there was sh... pi... fu...
  10. The founding fathers of this country would be rolling over in their graves if they knew what is happening in this country today. They strived to make this a perfect union. Of course no-one could ever do just that. But for them to know that INNOCENT people are being prosecuted and even put to death? For a perfect society, err should always be on the side of the defendant. Too many times have INNOCENT people been convicted on trumped up circumstantial evidence. "Beyond A Reasonable Doubt" doesn't mean crap in this country anymore. Make a charge and the sheeple go along with it.
  11. I have 3 Ross Cimarrons that I enjoy a lot. They are older and no longer available and not large/wide arbor. I would definitely buy something with a large arbor. Ross reels are pretty darn good for the money. Very smooth drags and good quality. Also made in the good ol' USA. I have purchased a couple of Bass Pro Shops Hobbs Creek Fly Reels. They cost $40 each. They are made of some sort of metal, not plastic like a cheap Cortland reel. For my cheaper rods they work just fine. The drags work pretty good and for tailwater trout fishing, I don't think you can beat the price for value. Those Abel reels will set you back quite a bit. I haven't used one, but for the money, I think you could find a good reel a lot cheaper.
  12. I just picked up a Canon T2i with 18-55mm lens and 55-250mm IS lens for $1000 at Best Buy in Springfield.
  13. I slightly disagree with you here. If this guy was CONVICTED of drug dealing, then his property SHOULD be seized. Until then though, I'm all against it.
  14. I hear the crack of a whip and the thud of jackboots in redneck MO.
  15. They did. His name is Tommy Chong.
  16. Cotter, Smallmouth Capitol of the World.
  17. I was not here before the dams, and I put up with what is here and that which I cannot change. No windmills, yet. I'm all for coal fired plants and nuclear energy as long as we can bury all the coal ash and nuclear waste in YOUR back yard. Sound ok to you? If your only argument against windmills is a few dead birds, then you are in for a rude awakening. Clean renewable energy is the future, whether you like it or not.
  18. ...or turtles run over by cars...
  19. With all the talk of birds dying from windmills, why is no-one complaining about the number of fish killed by dams every year??????
  20. STOP THE WIND TURBINES BREAKING NEWS
  21. I hate the way he makes it look so easy to apply those jungle cock eyes on a fly. Or they wings on a spey fly. They can be a real pain in the butt, but he makes it look so easy. I've tried duplicating what he does and still cannot for the life of me, do it as easily as he does.
  22. Have a great trip and come back safe.
  23. Not all of the landowners were happy to see their land taken from them. A lot of those families were there for decades and didn't want to give up what they had for the price Uncle Sam was paying. As for the dead birds, you are going to have to prove your statement of dead birds lying around wind turbines. Sure there may be a couple, but go into any urban area and you will see lots of dead birds. Show me the proof that these wind mills are "slauter"ing these birds. So instead of a wind farm, let's build more coal plants and nuclear power plants. Then you can bitch about the acid rain and the fallout from a nuclear meltdown. If your only argument about wind turbines is a few dead birds, then you are grossly misinformed and need to stop listening to Glen Beck and Rush for your facts.
  24. I guess if it's not our land that got stolen by the govenment to be buried under several thousand acres of water, we are ok with it if they dam the river. As for wind farms, they still look a hell of a lot better than some coal fired plant pouring tons of pollutants into the air every day. And I'm still not buying the bs about birds being "slaughter"ed by wind turbines.
  25. Honestly, I'd rather see a wind farm over a dam on the Buffalo or any other stream. I'd also rather see a wind farm than some brown smoke pouring into the sky from some coal fired plant.
