I had her sitting in the canoe in one of the seats in the garage while I was BBQing the other night and I thought I was going to cry. Awsome report Jeff...The fact you got your son out there makes it priceless!!!! Kudos to you and I know he has a memory to last a lifetime. I wish I would have been there!!! I agree with you though I am kind of ready for school to call them back to their studies. I'm selfish, I want a little more space on the rivers.

Sorry, I had to post another one. Here is quick underwter vid of MOsmallies releasing a smallie back to fight again. This is copied and pasted from another site. and another of Mosmallies about to release a giant he caught, unfortunately the moron we had with my camera in his hand fell out the stupid tree and hit every branch on the way down and turned off the camera.I was to busy stroking Paul's ego after the catch sorry guys I am really bored at the office today!!!Mosmallies we need t get out on the river soon!!!! Anything I know about pasting and copying pics and vids on here I owe to Eric1978, he's the man when it comes to that sort of thing.

Nice pics saluki!! I agree, unload somewhere else any copy & paste the link here and you will get some nice images. I do the same thing, I've even post underwater videos here. I also agree with my boy MOsmallies and AL that the Panasonic Lumix is a tight little camera for getting shots of river smallies and beeing out on the river in general....very versatile. MOsmallies you just have to catch fish worthy of a pic just kidding brother ya know I love ya...call me, we are hitting it this weekend...SundayThis is an image from an old disposable camera from way back in the 90's, copied and pasted over to this site.Unfortunately I think this fish may have dided??? I always liked the image though...way back in the 90's sheesh!!!

nice!!! lol..... I'll be there in about 13 years, we just had our first baby 7 months ago. I'm an idiot I waited until I am 41 to have my first kid!!! I'm crunching the numbers in head all the time and it scares the crap out of me.
-
Joe, I totally agree with you there, just getting these old bones to get moving is an accomplishment for me....way to much baseball in my youth. Hey, I'm just jealous of you, I heard about your set up...kudos to you man!!! It sounds like your living the dream down there
-
never, E I get excited just seeing a smallie not matter how big or small. I have caught plenty of big fish but they are ALL amazing from 11 inches to 21. I'm ready to go...just give me the word
-
Aw, Al come on now I only hit that creek a couple times a year!!!! I will tell you this I love that creek it's gem and I love the creek it flows into as well. Incidently Al, did you notice the amount of silver carp in there???? Last time I was there it had way more carp than I remember in the past, I know it flows into a large tributary but man!!!! Is this from high water thus allowing them to come up stream for refuge??? And the hole at the first bridge is very deep compared to years past, lots of big Gar. All in all it's a beautiful piece of water but more industrial looking than in the past. The scolding you gave me was well deserved, mums the word. Also, joeD you are the man if you only feel the need to measure fish that are 20 inches, that must suck to not get that excited about 16,17 and 18 inch smallies.

I guess we should go back to the stone ages and act like cro magnons, live in caves, build adobe huts go on a quest for fire??? Homosapiens have bigger brains than most mammals or amphibians. Did you think that man would not effect the enviroment with our intelligence and technology that we evolved???? Animals effect the world they live thru their adaptabilty and their need to live by the laws of nature. Man has a whole diiferent set of circumstance to deal with because we are smarter and have developed technolgy that allows us to live a more comfortable life style. Animals are just trying to survive, adapt and reproduce in the enviroment they live in, and they effect that enviroment thru those course of actions. Some species will flourish and some wil go by the way side. Man is just trying to use his big brain to make life easier to deal with because our intelligence allows us to and this effect other species.Sometimes this adversely effects other species and sometimes it helps them flourish. It's apples and oranges....we are much more intelligent than animals the laws of nature don't apply to us quite like they do to animals. Some of you guy on here are friggin nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! go live in a cave just don't drive your truck to the river and use gasoline...make sure you hike there and widdle your fly rod out of Hickory branch, make sure you use rib bone from a chipmunk for a hook, if you have the heart to kill it and tie your fly from the cotton wood seeds and feathers from a Pileated Woodpecker. -

Nice..........lol!!!!!!!!!!

Thats crazy!!!!!!!!!!! I was wading on the lower Bourbeuse outside of Union with a buddy once and he swore he saw a decent sized Alligator sunning on the bank and scared it into the river.I was behind him a bit and did not see it, I thought he had been smoking too much weed. To this day he gives me crap about not believing him, now I'm starting to wonder..........he swears it was at least four feet, he didn't want to wade any further that day, I have been giving him crap about it to this day. I guess you never know what lies beneath?????
-
Ozark, I agree with you to thats my problem...if someone as courteous and as kind sounding as you seem to be was wading a creek that ran thru my land I would probally just sit there and bullshit about flies with you for a bit and watch you practice your craft. I always try to talk to someone it helps and you might just get another fishing spot out of it, I did, the guy I talked to once about permission also had land on the Little Piney and gave me exclusive acess to his land down there with the combo to his gate.Yet, I know what your saying about your rights to fish navigable streams I totally understand....hell I am a walking, breathing oxymoron. I am a landowner who has land on a stream who thinks you should ask permission yet, I wade fish all the time and alot of those fishing expiditions I don't get permission so don't listen to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Nice, it gives you a little perspective on how good we do have it here. Do you think that 40 hp jet would have some issues sitting that much???The rubber seals dry rotting??? He did disconnect the fuel line, I am beeing a puss about it, I should just go give him the $3000 and be done with it and feel the rath of my wife for buying yet another boat!!!!! If this thing goes on craigslist it will be gone in a matter of hours I would think??? It's 2003 that he didn't buy until 2004 new. This old guy is not in the best shape I don't think I can get him to take the boat down to the river???He just had a stroke last year and his legs aren't working to well, it's buyer beware buy as is deal.
-
Randall, I totally agree with you!!! man up and take the time to get permission. The landowner does own the stream bed and can be sued by someone who hurts themselves on your land even if you don't have permission to be there and are trespassing.Repect the rights to the land, if we don't know you are there we can't take the due couse of action tell you about any obstructions or dangers. Show some respect ask permission and you will have a fishing spot for life that you are not trespassing on.

G, that sucks!!! I agree with Mitch, I had my plates taken off my trailer there as well and my truck was broken into @ Brown's Ford. I have a sign I put in my window some think it is stupid but no one break in since I have been putting in the truck. It says this...C&C permit owner, break in at your own risk, I am watching you. I also leave the truck unlocked with nothing in it and carry a low comp deductble on my insurance. I know it sounds stupid but what can you do with the meth heads today who are willing to do anything for money?????
-
JDC, why do you have to come to St.Louis to buy a truck????price????or they don't have the one you need down there???
-
Mitch, I sold my jet to my brother and he is moving to Mississippi. I do have a 19 foort SeaArk with a 110 Yamaha on the back, I really have been letting that thing go unused it's a travesty!!! It's has a prop but you can use on the lower end of rivers if you know what you are doing. I have some pretty cool canoes though, with different types of motors for them. Mexico City, I've heard it's beautiful???? watch out for the water and the ice cubes if you are drinking!!!!! I found a little jet, a guy out by my farm wants to sell he used twice and it is 7 years old. It's only a 16 foot Lowe with a 40 hp Johnson jet on the back. The thing has been sitting in one of his barns and he dosen't like the boat. He only took it out by himself and he said it would slide around on him. I told him he neede some weight up front, he just wants to unload it. My wife is going to kill me if I buy it, but he is going to put it on craigslist next week if I don't react he said. He said he would take $2900 for it, it looks brand new, but I didn't know if there would be any issues with it sitting idle so much????It also has a nice galvanized trailer. Do you know if this would be an issue.I pretty sure he winterized it but what about water pump and rubber seals???? This boat has seriously only been used about two or three times, it's pathetic!!!
-
Man that sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!, I hate to say it but that is becoming a common occurence on the Rock, I have had my boat broken into there twice in two years.Once they took my batteries, thats pretty pathetic. The second time they pryed my rod box open to find there was nothing in there, cost me about $300 to fix. I will shoot the next person screwing with my new boat, if I catch them in the act, count on it.
-
Mitch, the first smallie pictured here was 20 inches and the second was 19. Paul caught one last year that wasn't quite as long as that fish but weighed more. This fish he caught was only 3 pounds 9 ounces. When are we gonna go hit the river???? I'm ready....
-
JDC, anytime you want to go contact me, I'm down. My time is less than before due to a baby but my job is always taken care of by my three employees. I tell you what, I'll take you somewhere up here towards St. Louis and then you you have to take me somewhere down there, where there is some really nice fishing from what I've heard. I'm dying to get my boat down to Table rock!!!

After a torrent came down stream following the rain on Sunday night 07/18/2010, I had a couple of guys from this forum came out to my cabin on an unamed river in Missouri. I basicly gave them a guided trip on this unamed river that begins with an M, sometimes I like watching people catch them better than catching myself. I'm not trying to brag but both of these guys caught their personal best river smallies, I'm not saying I caught them but I showed them where to fish while I observed and drank my rum. I had planned to spend the whole week on the river but it was cut short by obligations out of my control in St.Louis, so I had to come back for parties and my daughter's baptism. The water was pretty high by my cabin so we went way upsteam to get to a little cleaner water and there is less fishing pressure up there. We caught them on soft plastics very tight to the laydowns, the presentation had to be very slow, it took these guys a little while to slow it down enough but once they did they really caught some nice smallies.I caught a great buzz!! We caught some decent ones on Sammy's and Black Buzz baits that night but not as big as the ones earlier in the day. I appologize about beeing so vauge as to where we were but I have been told not to reveal locales on here. P.Owensby if your reading this, these pics will be of you next week...I'll call you.this is the water at the cabin after the rain OAF member with his PB river smallie in length, it was a c hair over 20 another one of my protegees from OAF with his PB smallie 19 plus Paul with a decent Largemouth, I'm not sure why it is sideways?? P.Owensby next week you and I are yaking somewhere to get you a 20 hopefully....lesson learned for the week:: mother nature is a bitch, I had planned to fish 7 days in a row...what can you do????
