Don't worry. I forgot that you were bringing them. Even after reading your last post about leadcore it didn't hit me. I only remembered when I saw this post.
I picked mine up at Bass Pro. Orvis was the cheapest, and it was a 2-pack with different sink rates. I think they were labeled as "for 6-9wt fly lines" or something similar.
Here is a link for 3-5wts.
I wouldn't knock the vibrams until you try them. I ended up with a pair due to a price I couldn't say no to and they are awesome. They even grip the slickest riffles on the NFOW as well as felt does.
I wonder if the catch and keep fisherman that feel C&R fisherman should stop after landing a limit also think that the dinks they catch themselves should go towards their own limit even though they do not get to keep them?
That's what I said! Apparently a number have things have changed in the last four and a half years.
What really sucks is that we know we will be having another c section and 545 minutes of every hour so far has been irrelevant. Actually scratch that, what really sucks is that is a three week class with a two hour session each Tuesday and I had to miss JJ Grey and Mofro when they were in town.
Not the confluence.
It's an MDC Access, so no secret whatsoever, but it was nice being the only guy there so I thought it best to not hot spot.
Yeah, he would've been a lot more fun had I left the pike stick at home.
I wish. Got a birthing class tonight. Apparently I am expected to attend even though I am not the one doing the birthing.
Let me know another time when you are free and we can hit it somewhere.
...and made it to the office by eight.
D'oh! I had my 8wt and 4wt in identical cases and grabbed the wrong one.
FWIW I saw no surface activity after 7:15.
With most warm water species you can "reel" them in by just stripping line through the guides with your off hand while not letting any slide back through with the "trigger finger" of your rod hand. It is easier to keep the line tight when you can strip in a couple feet of line or more as opposed to reeling in 4-6" per revolution of the reel.
If you'll note the time stamp of my post and the post previous to mine, there is roughly 12 hours difference. You'll hafta ask that fella why he resurrected the thread.
No need for a discussion, I have made the suggestion that it be better to draw no attention to the streams than good attention. That's all I wanted to do.
I am not a purist by any means, but I do like to have while fishing and to me an auto reel would be pretty boring.
I've also often wondered if you wouldn't see more break offs using one?
This is a good point to bring up for skinny water, Justin. I might also add for everyone that no matter what color you are wearing your shadow is always black and it will spook more fish than any loud colored Hawaiian style vacation shirt ever will if it is cast on/near this fish so be mindful of it as well.
I admittedly didn't take the time to read this thread so this may have already been covered. But, next time you want people to leave these streams alone why not just STFU instead of starting a thread that gets 985 views (at the time of this posting), many of which came from people who didn't even know about them let alone were thinking about fishing them on the hottest days of summer. Just seems kinda counterintuitive eh?.
I have a hip pack that I often wear over the shoulder as a sling pack. Mine is a Recycled Waders bag. It works well for fly boxes (and would work well for anything in boxes) but it doesn't have any sort of built in dividers.
