Agreed Agreed The two types of "trout park fisherman" described are not the same. The difference lies in the idiot part. I doubt any one of the trout park fisherman laker described, himself included, would ever do what the OP described.

Someone talking loudly on there phone is no worse than the two fisherman trying to hold a conversation while one is 50 feet upstream from the other. Actually, I think the angler on the phone would only be half as bad unless they have the call on speaker phone.

I suppose you could just put the ring on before folding the line over its self. Or you could make the leader, put the loop through the ring, and pull the but section of the leader through the loop, Just like you do to make a loop to loop connection. I think I described this to where it makes sense, and I am sure there is a technical term or name out there for this procedure that I am not aware of?

They changed the warranty on rods they had already sold? Or just the ones sold after XX/XX/2011?? If its not the latter, that doesn't seem like a smart move...

Not with money I have deposited. I do have $13 and change in my account. I started with 30 some odd cents I won in a free roll. Only the websites who offer real money play have "play money" games worth playing though. and for the record, IF I ever did get an iPhone it would be jailbroken the same day.

I know when I first looked into it Apple wouldn't allow any gambling apps. One of the reasons I got a droid OS phone over the iPhone was the Rush Poker Mobile App. It is an "off market" app, so I thought such an "out of iTunes" app might be out there for the iPad.

I had to read that twice myself. I think an iPad would be better suited for easy chair OAFing and poker playing (if Full Tilt has the app available).

Yeah OB, I know all too well about that "weird stuff" my mother has been a postal clerk for about 8 years now. It's the stories of that "weird stuff" that fuels my concerns. If they did lose it I will go postal on someone LOL. I bet the delay is weather related though.

Yeah sorry the (its not furled) wasn't directed at you, I could tell you knew the difference by your title and seeing as how Captain Sodie doesn't frequent OAF I should have just left it out of my post. I use Berkley vanish in 6 or 8 lb test for a leader when I don't use the colored furled one. It is readily available and inexpensive enough as far as leaders go and it turns over everything I have tried to throw so far. I will make a spun leader and try it out. Maybe I don't really know an easy turn over yet. That explains a lot, makes since for that type of fishing. I don't know how much someone using 8-3x tippet could really benefit from the added strength of using even 2 or 4 lb mono, but if your after huge record (saltwater especially) fish on the fly I can see the advantages. Thanks guys, you learn something everyday.

What is the purpose of a spun (they aren't furled btw) leader in mono? I have a colored furled leader made out of thread to use instead of a strike indicator, but I am uneducated to the benefits of one in mono.
