  1. Most contests in the contiguous 48 are 18+ (at least) only.
  2. I would give up my DPMS Panther Sportical for your setup + $300. Optics ready, 16" barrel w/birdcage flash hider, 6 position stock, hard case, two 30rd mags and cleaning kit. Less than 200 rounds down the tube and haven't even sent the warranty card in under my name yet. Everything in pics minus scope (you can have the mounts).
  3. I've heard of the wacky rig recently but never used it. Do you suspend and twitch it or let it come to rest on the bottom and twitch?? Thanks in advance.
  4. Nice fish!
  5. Nice report Jerod. I hit just below the outlets a little after 8:00 for my first trip with the fly rod, fished through the storm (well I did break to hit the fly shop and return with a handful of yellow micro jigs that seemed to be the ticket for a couple other fellows, a couple slices of pizza from the night before and a boulevard wheat for lunch) and just as I figured out (somewhat more than when I started) what I was doing and managed a couple of strikes (which I proceeded to miss) the horn blew at about a 1/4 til one I believe and my day was over. A good trip even though I came up empty handed. It was a good learning experience, no one was harmed and I don't think I messed up anyone elses fishing. Glad you had better luck!
  6. My freezer is chocked full of vermilion snapper but I also found room for catfish, lmb and smb (latter two from ponds).
  7. It's not mine but seems like a good deal for someone who is looking. http://springfield.craigslist.org/spo/1810392451.html

  9. in before the lock
  10. This is what I would ideally do, but the boss says the yak can't stand out on our balcony I was willing to buck up and deal with the inflation/deflation and assembly issues but I am disappointed and some what deterred by the navigability and performance issues associated with the pontoon.
  11. No hard feelings, my fault. Thank you for the welcome. You are exactly right on the canoe/yak statement and I do have a flat bottom john boat at my parents house still, but storage and hauling are my issues now. When we moved to Springfield we knew we would be relocating temporarily to KC (or further away) for my wife to go to dental school in less than four years (now a year and a half away) so unfortunately we only rent an apartment instead of owning a house. Additionally my 3 series bmw or her grand am aren't ideal for hauling watercraft. I have found a "packable" personal pontoon on Amazon.com but I can't find any solid reviews on it so I am not sure whether to invest in it or not. Aside from that, I believe fly fishing is my answer! lol
  12. Thanks Sharps, you are lucky to be so close to those fisheries now!
  13. He will want to be back every summer now! Nice fish!
  14. Sorry, I didn't intend it as an argument against regulatory change, I am all for it. Just saying that it could be a slight issue once implemented. Post some pictorial signage and ticket those who plead ignorance and call it a day.
  15. Also makes you wonder how many missing persons it has feasted on.
  16. +1 on that for sure. On a side note, not to take this thread off topic, do people eat those monster cats you hear being caught out of the MS and MO rivers??
  17. Great post. That's something a lot of us (I am guilty anyway) fail to do. I usually bring a bottle or two of water along but I bet that I rarely ever consume the amount of water i really should while on the water or just in the outdoors. If not for the health benefits stay hydrated so you have the energy to fish more when you finally get the chance to get away!
  18. +1 This could be an issue with everyone from kids/first timers, to locals who know the species by a different/wrong name, to weekend warriors that don't have the experience or knowledge to properly identify the fish. This could be a hindrance to the efforts as well as a deterrent to fisherman who might receive a citation even when they thought they were obeying the rules (less people on the rivers may not be a bad thing though ).
  19. LOL My next question was going to be: And you caught TROUT?!?!?!?!!!! That explains a lot though.
  20. Nice trip! Baptist Camp South of Houston MO?
  21. Thank you MMM.
  22. I would like to with full moon being Saturday, but wanting to and getting to are not the same. We will see if I am able to make it, and I will post up if I can get away.
  23. Anyone know where the video might be available online? Or at least the name of the documentary so I can look for it?
  24. Nice pics and site. I will listen to some podcasts when I am not at work!

I am sorry I poked fun at your disability earlier. I apologize for that. Grab someone who can for you and have them read you what you quoted from JD. The part where it says "even wilder climate fluctuations". Then have them read the accusation you made against me, wherein you stated that I stated "fossil fuels did not effect the environment". Now have them explain the difference. You must have missed the day in remedial reading where they covered the defenitions of climate and environment so this will be a good lesson for you
