I caught my first fish EVER using an bobber "indicator" a few weeks ago. I was actually using a bobber, a thill mini shy bite I believe. It moved through water better than those big orange balls or some of the others. Now that I've caught a fish using an indicator, I have retired it. Not much fun, boring to watch just it and not the water all around, and it drives me nuts when fish hit the indicator... -

So, you were illegally on the lake? Even if for only "10 minutes" you were illegal? And what did the young teen learn from this? -
I fish that section between Bennett and NRO quite often and this was the prettiest I've caught. We had a pretty good day yesterday. I'd say we caught 10 and the crowd was not bad at all.

I rarely use any weight at all, but I rarely fish over 8' deep. Those Pink worms work great that way...never caught anything big, but the numbers are usually there...

I am headed out to California in July. Hoping to fish the Owens River in Bishop area and them go over the mountains and fish the rivers o the western slope. Will probably fish mostly the Merced river and its tributaries and some of the area in Yosemite. I hope to get some great pics and will post. Can't wait to go!

A beautiul day to be on the river, though it rained the first half hour. Arrived at Bennett Access 5:45 am and on the river in the kayak at 6. Started off slow but finally found my first two trout about a mile downstream. The Flyrod was working for me on this day. Caught 9 trout, with 3 of them a little under 15". All rainbows today, no browns. Last 2 trout caught were just to the left of "NRO" island. Only saw about 25 other canoes all day. I like NRO's new shuttle service. Just show up and they take you back up river for $25.

...Kayaking from Bennett to NRO next Tuesday or Wednesday, depending on weather...I'll fly rod the whole way, and my buddy will spin it...

...I was on the lake Monday, and forgot to sunscreen my feet...anyway, caught a nice Walleye30 minutes into my day, and that was it for Walleye...did catch some bass, but nothing to brag about...I haven't caught a crappie in a month...only one other trailer at Hartley...

Pink worm bite is on!!!!!! This was Sunday afternoon...my wife caught her first pink worm bass...crappie rod with 4# line is not the prefered set up...
