  1. caught my first Niangua rainbow on a dry fly...I've caught a few browns but never a rainbow till yesterday...fun...smallest fish I caught all day, but fun to see him come up and take it...probably caught 8, all in the 12" range...not much traffic on the river, with a little rain...
  2. I don't have any exact numbers, but it seems to me that "innocent" people being shot are very rare. That's why they make the news when it does happen. I'd guess that a HUGE majority of shootings are amongst friends, family, or drugs. Sure, occasionally someone gets in the way of these things, but rarely. Not worth the hassle at Terrierman said.
  3. Broncos 10-6 Chiefs 7-9 Chargers 7-9 Raiders 6-10 I'll have an All AFC West fantasy team. We'll see how that works out.
  4. ...these stories usually end with..."alcohol may have been involved"...
  5. ...I love Bennett Springs fishing reports...THEY RELEASE FISH EVERYDAY!!!...Go get em...
  6. Did anyone go...Actually, it's a rainy day and I just opened up the oldest thread I could find...but seriously, did anyone go..?
  7. I see these Chiefs fans on some of the Facebook pages actually believing10 or 12 wins...could happen...I'd be thrilled with 8-8 with a few quality wins thrown in...first game against Jacksonville is going to be a surprisingly tough game...IF the Chiefs win, and it's a squeaker, it may be a long season...1-3 after the first 4 games, it's over...2-2 would be great...3-1possibly with some breaks...after that it gets tougher...Chargers are VERY overlooked this year I think, especially if Rivers gets his Mojo back...
  8. Let's hear it...Chiefs win Over/Under 8 games....I'll go first with under...and FYI, I am a TRUE Chiefs fan...GO CHIEFS! However, I will miss games on those perfect autumn afternoons to go fishing...priorities...Oh yea, why I say under is O-line, D-line, QB, and Receivers...just for fun compare Smith to Cassel...there numbers are eerily close to a fault...
  9. ..it's July, it's slow...
  10. ..by clicking on this pic...my pop ups may get interesting...
  11. Stippling is the creation of a pattern simulating varying degrees of solidity or shading by using small dots. I looked it up...
  12. ...if I took advice on my fishing destinations, I'd probably never leave the house...go try it...make it an adventure...prove everyone wrong...there are pools on that little creek with nice smallmouth..."skinny" water may turn off lots of anglers, but they still have fish...GO, have fun, and report back...do it for yourself...everyone on this forum has there own little "secret" creek...make this one yours...
  13. I'd guess I catch about 20 rainbows for every brown...and my average catch rate is about one per hour...so a brown every 20 hours of fishing...this brown hit a soft hackle type fly (homemade) while it was swinging...and he exploded on it...like a smallmouth...most of the browns I've caught have hit like that on the Niangua...this has been my best year to date on trout in the river...after the last 2 years of low water flow, these, as you can see, are very healthy fish...nice and fat with full tails and lots of color...
  14. ...keyword is always "could"...could happen...could be a cause..."could" is the new "assume"...
  15. I'm thinking it was the same one...here's another rainbow from today...
  16. My third trip to the Niangua this week. Earlier in the week while kayaking I had what looked like a pretty good brown flash at a small spinner...it bugged me...so today I kayaked 2.5 miles UPSTREAM just to give it a go...it worked. Caught this brown, probably13 or 14 inches right where I had seen him a few days ago...you can run, but you cant hide...also caught at least 12 nice rainbows...great day on the river and very few floaters.
  17. ...its pretty much half way between Id say...to far down the river for me to fish...Id think fishing would be ok, but I don't fish below Prosperine...
  18. ...just wait till they try to build a memorial on that sandbar...
  19. ...he should have just peed in the river like everyone else does...
  20. The best Jug setup I've seen was at the Party Cove at LOZ....
  21. ...I would think earlier in the year (Aprilish) would be much better...Never done it, but at that time of year I'd expect excellent fishing...Walleye go much further up the creek than most people would believe...
  22. ...I have found that traffic doesn't really affect the fishing, as long people are just "floating" through and not thrashing around in the water...especially on the Niangua..I've caught trout right under canoes...it always impresses...
