  1. John thanks for all the work you do to put out these reports. Can't wait to get up there this fall and wade some water.
  2. Found the anwser to my questions this morning. The spots were about 15 feet deeper than I was fishing and the LM were suspended in the tree's in 35 feet or deeper. Sometimes it just pays to work a little deeper. Bite is tough around the dam. Not hard to get bit but hard to get the hook set. Tried to down size the jig but didn't have a good feel for the bottom. Seemed the spots wanted the larger chunck rock from 40 out. Well hope to get out one more time tonight before heading back to the metromess. Tight lines.
  3. Same here Thursday night fishing up around Combs Ferry. Lots of short fish with a couple of 17 inch SM no LM. Went back yesterday morning and had a nice drop shot fish and my personal best SM on a jig. Slept in this morning going back hard to night. Found a few new places to try to night. Good fishing to all.
  4. I have found a place that has provided good numbers and several 16 to 20 inch small mouth. Why am I not catching any large mouth in the same area? I wouldn't expect to catch spots in this area but don't understand why there aren't a few LM there.
  5. Fished a point across from the dam from dark unil after 1 am. Put 7 fish in with 2 fish in the 17 inch range. Boat was in 31 feet throwing back to about 14 most of the the fish came from around 20 feet. Most of the fish came on a jig with a few coming off a brush hog. Fish were only in a area about 50 yards long. No fish and only a few short strikes outside this small area. It was a good night for my first night trip on TR. Can't wait to go look at the area today and start looking for another area for to night. Going to change my line to fluorocarbon to night to much stretch in the mono. I wasn't getting good hook sets with that much line in the water.
  6. Tourist type of question. Can you fish from a bass boat and drift up near areas one and two? If so where do you put in? I would like to take my grandson and SIL out on Taney to drift and float fish for trout. Thank you.
  7. Headed up next week. So if you see a white 461 with TX numbers who looks lost that will be because he is in all that clear deep water. Will mainly be fishing around the JJ point and dam area. Then try to find some more water. Tight lines. Bill thanks to all for the detailed reports.
  8. I just wanted to say hello. I have been a long time lurker and wanted to introduce myself. We have been coming to TR since 1984. My parents have a home on JJ across from the dam. I quit fishing about 2 years ago and have started back again. Plan on coming up to the lake towards the end of July for a week of fishing and spending time with my parents. I would like to thank all those who post your fishing reports that go into detail. It is a great way for us flat landers to keep up on what is going on. Hope to see a few of you on the lake in a few weeks. If I can ever help anyone on any of the North Texas lakes just let me know. Tight lines. Randy
