    Thats the same lens i got, its a good one, but a little short for birds, you really slipped up on him. Over the years I found out good photos were luck and knowing the lens, lol You sure did good on those photos!

    Yeah Billet, i keep mind on motor drive all the time, that makes up for my lack of knowledge, lol! Did you have a 200 mm lens on for those shots or a 55?

    Got some nice pictures there Billet, way to go ! In stead of auto, try shooting in aperture mode for your depth of field. Play with that, it will start getting you out of auto.

    You are doing a great job, I got the old D40 out and charged it up, been trying to find out how to use it with a 2 meg restriction. Are you sneeking up on them or waiting for them to land?

    I just did some measuring and i came up with 20 inches, but i think the tag in the pic is longer than the one i found, so i'am guessing that is a 16-17 fish.

    If anyone knows the length of the tag, easy to determine the length of the fish. p.s. I just a pic of one online that is 3/4 in. dont know if same type tag, is MDC smallmouth though.

    I havent checked, are the gas canister's cheaper in the long run than coleman fuel?

    yep, i got 3 svea 123,s and a optimus 8r, no problem with fuel.

    Al, that would be better than what we are doing now. I dont see any way to improve the quality of candidate though.

    I was in the building trades for 30 years, Most of the guys were ok, But there were some real pains in the rear, lol I didnt take offense.
