  1. I fished over the weekend and was using your black hibernator had alot of hits and trouble hooking up..the fish were so small. i was using a sinking tip as well
  2. dont forget the bats, i had one that fell into the water and was trying to climb up my waders.
  3. I was there over the weekend as well. I didnt see the fight but i did see the crowd around blue pipe hole...what a waste, i was fishing the fast water above that and multiple times had people just walk in and stand right where i was drifting. One of the worst trips ive had down there.
  4. count me in, i will do a leech or a mouse
  5. It was nice to meet everyone and put a name to a face. Friday was the best night fishing i have experienced, we caught fish on just about everything we threw but i did best on a red hibernator. Im not sure how many trout i caught but i ended up with 1 white bass, 1 small hybrid bass(i think), 2 small browns and 4 trout that were over 18 inches and my new best a 20.5 inch. Saturday and Sunday night fishing was slow for me, i guess it had something to due with that cold front.
  6. Outside Bend, i am glad you are an expert and can educate anglers on the matter, but there is no need to turn others comments into some thing negative. I never implied that anglers should not be responsible to prevent the spread. If banning felt will stop our streams from becoming contaminated then i am all for it. There is nothing else that i have found that grips like felt, this will make wading more dangerous, especially for those with not the best of balance.
  7. I also wonder if wildlife could spread it. What about a blue heron wading around then flys to another stream. Could that spread it? if so we may end up with it no matter what we do.
  8. nice, did you get a chance to watch those videos yet?
  9. Im not one to usually comment on ethic or legal issues, because they just lead to senseless arguments, but this one hit a nerve. Sounds to me like somebody is just frustrated that they cant catch fish, and i can understand that, but that doesnt mean we should penalize others. I enjoy fishing so much that i do not wish keep them, even more so anything that is nice sized. Everyone likes to catch fish and even more big fish, so why not share? I also fish with barbless hooks and a rubber net to minimize fish handling and safely return the fish asap. Higher fishing pressure levels? if we are talking about a trout park here, give me a break...ive caught many of fish with other flies in their mouth or their mouth is tore up in multiple spots from being caught before. I wouldnt say my goal is to catch as many as possible in a day, but catch some fish and enjoy a full day on the water. I will often switch rods and the style i am fishing not because it isnt working but just to mix it up so that i am not doing the same thing all day. C and R is what i love about fishing, i can go out have fun, enjoy nature and not have to kill the animal like i do with hunting. Kevin
  10. i would say i will make it, i just patched my waders and want to make sure its going to hold before i go to taney
  11. Yea i will have to see if i can make it that weekend and let you know, ive got a taney trip planned that next week. How often do you all make it down? ive got a camper down there so i am down at least once a month. Kevin
  12. I was also there saturday and sunday, i always seem to end up there the weekend they do that tournament, i think alot of the crowd was also due to it being the last weekend of summer break before the kids head back to school...did any of you catch a tagged fish? I did well on a size 18 gray ostrich herl scud and a size 20 gray wd-40 and a few other midge patterns of mine. I was fishing in zone 2 from around the bluff hole, up to the fast water. If you want let me know next time you guys head down and maybe we can meet up do some fishing and trade midge patterns Kevin
  13. Thanks, yea i have used little poppers years ago and did well...but i didnt know how well they would work this early. It was middle of summer when i did it.
  14. I was asked by a co worker to help teach a boy scout troop how to fly fish so they can get their merit badge. I primarily fish trout and am looking for suggestions of flies to use for pan fish or bass. We will be fishing a pond, i was just thinking of using wooley buggers, cracklebacks, zonker...maybe a san juan Thank You Kevin
