I am not a crappie fisherman, but I know by all the posts that there are a MANY of you out there that love those slabs. Kwall is right, this is a walleye lake and thank god that they do stock this lake. How many people fish on a daily basis for crappie? Do people keep all sizes? Is there a length limit? Do people double dip on their daily limits? With all the fishing pressure on Stockton for crappie, those fish numbers at times will dip. I hate to imagine how many cedars that have been put in this lake, just for the crappie. The MDC helps us decide, which lakes to fish for our favorites. Sorry for you charliehorsejigs that they have shutdown your fishing dock, and that your fishing time has been in decline. The Eyes are not the only ones snapping up those 10 inch crappie either.

Had a situation at the dan one evening. We are the ONLY boat along the whole thing mind you and we watch this boat come across the lake getting closer and closer and then right at us. We were fishing around the old channel and I guess that was these fellas special spot and they rolled up on us not more than 25 yards and at times less and start fishing right by us. And this has been mentioned in almost every story I have heard about situations like this before, No eye contact at all. Now my dad has been boiling since this all happened, so he asks "Are you ready to go" He started the boat told me to hang on and we went straight at these guys and then precedes to drive our boat around theirs twice within 10 yards and those guys just stared at us as we went around and around them and then took off. My dad did feel bad after doing what he did, I didn't though. These are people who are just plain selfish and really have no regards to manners or any etiquitte and that will probably never change in these people. It is really a shame that people have gotten this low, with a WHOLE lake to fish that they would do the things that they do. Plenty of those stories to go around. We have learned to grin and bear it anymore.

Good for you guys. My dad and I are coming down for roughly 10 days of serious fishing. We really enjoy spending time @ Stockton and in our opinion this is the best time of the year for multiple reasons. We stay @ Crabtree Cove Campground, only hope the darn politicians don't shut down the government.

Your in a pretty decent area, where your putting in at. Lots of areas on your side to the darn as well as the Crabtree Cove side. Lots of good water to cover. There are other areas south but if you want to stay close, this should work for you. Good Fishing.

Your right about Marty. Always had his reports out and was very helpful offline to my dad and myself when we were learning about the walleye fishing aspects of the lake. Best wishes to Marty and his family.

People have become seriously selfish over the past 20 years. Going back to what straw hat wrote about what he was taught in school, classes were meant to teach us to be better Americans in many ways. Nowadays, since the liberals have taken over the schools across our country(among so many other items too) you are seeing firsthand what their type of lessons are bringing to our country. It is all about what is best for me, me, me. It is really a shame but if our President can be all about me,me or I did this or I did that without sharing credit or lack of credit amongst other things then I think that tells us something. I love my country but it is and has been falling to crap for sometime so what are we going to do about it? Teach your kids right, or you will raise a person who will end up being, a loser of many colors.

At the least.........you got almost 2 limits. As far as everything else, what a day man, what a day.

It's nice to see some photos of those Walleye. Really gives me the "good" shakes. Haven't heard much noise on biting Walleye, so thanks for the pics and the info.

Awesome colors on a smally, way to go!

Stayed at the lake from 9-24 to 10-3 @ Crabtree. Had some great weather and caught a lot of bass 3/4 lb. to a pound class. Caught 26 walleye a little more than 1/3 were keepers with big one @ 5.2 lbs. and 26 inches and first fish of the trip. A few smallmouth and those pesky bluegill with some token crappie. Did most of our damage throwing cranks around rocky areas.
