  1. Good point, so if my math is correct, and most likely isnt, I have converted from surface acres to total acre feet, to gallons of water per 22 keeper bass at over 1 million gallons. As for the "i" that is my most hated mathematical symbol, and the 0.16, well I might have just made that up? Dang it now I have forgot which side, if there is a side, I was arguing for or against. Time to take my meds now.
  2. Just because I am bored and soaking upthe heating pad. If Table Rock has 45 thousand acres and missouri has a deer herd of one million, that would equate to 22 keeper bass per acre, seems doable. Of course do you compare the number of deer in mid summer or after rifle season to the number of keeper bass in march or the number left at the end when apparently every fisherman has kept his limit every day, but then you have to account for those fish that attained 15 inches during the year, so figuring in a floating constant of "i", and a standard deviation of.0.16 then the ultimate answer is 42. If you have kids who have made you sit through the hitch hikers guide to the galaxy while your brain shrinks you will understand that reference.
  3. Nice Oneshot! When I was a kid we would go to hwy 83 marina area when the lake was up and catch carp till our arms ached Always saved one or two nice ones to bake in the oven. Lol we didn't know we was poor, just thought it was pretty good eats.
  4. Due to some issues I haven't been able to put my boat in the water for just over a year. I did siphon all the gas I could get out of the tank last summer, and I always used non ethanol fuel. Is is OK to start it and let it run with the muffs on as long as I don't take it above idle?
  5. I will say that the better description than hillbilly is white trash. There are white trash at every level of income and education. Some of the most protective landowners are hillbillirs, some of the most destructive are wealthy and educated who bough some property to play on and aren't really concerned with any damage done to the resource as long as they have their piece of the pie.
  6. Hmm with the "whats cooking" thread at 27 pages, it ain't even close yet. Maybe in the TR thread only.
  7. With some of the debris floating in the main lake, on the Pomme arm, I hope the bowfishermen are careful. I can only imagine that hitting a partially floating log in an airboat at night running fast would be a bad thing. Of course hitting one in any kind of boat running fast would be a bad thing. Be careful fellers is what I am saying.
  8. http://www.ozarkswaterwatch.org/documents/2014TABLEROCKLAKEANNUALREPORT.pdf I don't know if this is posted already somewhere or not, but just the reading entertainment of those interested here is a link to the MDC 2014 Annual Report for Table Rock.
  9. Had a report today of quite a bit of debris floating in the lake on the Pomme side from near Wheatland Landing up river. South wind and releases will likely push it further down. Be aware.
  10. I suppose there could be some increase in boat traffic as a result. But honestly I wouldn't expect the big tidal wave of bowfishers that TR had last year. Could be wrong though, heck let em shoot all the carp, buffalo, gar, drum they want.
  11. Good chunky rascal (the fish).
  12. Cool you got photos of both my truck and my boat. If'n I'd a knowed you was watchin I'd a waved at ya.
  13. It's not bad except for the upper ends. Once the lake starts to drop the logs will ground out wherever the wind has pushed them. It's up to you on the tube a little common sense on where you pull them will go a long way. But there is always something floating around it seems like.
  14. I would guess that at this rate we would be down about a foot by Friday night, maybe slightly more.
  15. Looks like we are cleared to begin increasing outflow today, up to 2000 CFS. Unsure with the long range forecast for heavy rains in Kansas and Northern MO how long we will be able to maintain the releases. While the rain likely won't directly affect us it will indirectly affect our ability to release by increasing the flow into the Osage and Missouri Rivers. As always we will have to wait and see.
  16. AWESOME Trip.
  17. It will depend on if we get to release and or any additional rain. Assuming we get to release we likely would drop 4 to 6 inches a day. Depending on how much we get to release. My guess is that we will get to release some and will be down maybe a foot, and falling. But that is just a guess.
  18. I checked Bolivar rampyesterday. It still has a lot debris on it, but one lane was useable. Looked like a lot of the drift had sailed away with a couple days of good south wind. Still hoping to be able to increase our outflow by mid week or so.
  19. The "Dark Side" is calling you Fishingwrench, embrace it, soon you will be "Nedding", AND pouring sea foam/Stabil into your fuel, maybe even filletting a few bass.
  20. Was it any better than the Mermaid show that they still show occasionally.

    What's Cooking?

If you want to be a little adventurous come fall try making turnip kraut. Used to make it as a kid and it was usually strong enough to roll your eyes back. Its an acquired taste sort of like green tomato pickles.
  22. Much as I like arguing I can't disagree with that. I believe the culling rule was nothing more than a bone thrown to tournament fishing. I have never heard of it being enforced. And you know as well as I do that the one and done rule isn't going to stop anyone from culling a second time.
  23. I not smart enough to cut and paste from my phone. But says That tournament bass anglers may cull bass from Sept through june. July and August are the months the no culling rule applies. I fully agree that it was a poorly written article. Culling is only allowed for tournaments and if one fish under the 6 fish limit is kept in the livewell, as soon as a sixth one is added you are done, regardless of the month. At least that is what I think it is supposed to say. We could consume several cold barley pops while trying to figure it out though.
  24. Maybe we are reading different regs. But it say from July 1 thru Aug 31 no one may cull, which it goes on to say again that it applies to tournament anglers also. Certainly not gonna say I didn't miss something but seems pretty clear, that it applies to all whether tournament, sport or meat anglers.
  25. Out of curiosity what are the exceptions as I didnt see any listed.
