  1. May well have known them and checked them previously, or no fishing gear etc.
  2. Congratulations!
  3. There will certainly be lawsuits filed, whether or not anyone besides the lawyers get paid or not remains to be seen. Much will depend on the NTSB findings with respect to maintenence and repairs.

    What's Cooking?

I like s/p on maters and salt occasionally on canteloupe. Otherwise if the fruit or melon is a good one it doesn't need it. Does help on those sub part ones you buy though, real easy to get too much. I will pass on the black pepper though.
  5. It is a sickening, terrible event. Almost certainly there is a series of failures, events and bad decisions that contributed. Maybe that Duck didn't have as good an engine and lacked power, maybe some seals gave way, maybe driver had little to no clue how to fight that kind of storm. Lucky there weren't 2 at the bottom. Terrible terrible thing, and I have no words to express the tragedy of it.
  6. Eh, a maybe waterfall vs. Dead swimmers, easy choice and a pretty simple fix really.
  7. My maters are still not putting out but a few and I have I think 17 of them. Next ywar i am goingto actually pull some soil samplea to see what i am lacking. Used to be silly hiw many tomatoes i grew.. Fortunately the canteloupes just keep getting better and better, no idea how many melons are out there now.
  8. I am an hurt west of LOZ, only water here came out of a hose or was dripping off me while pulling weeds out of my canteloupe patch.

    What's Cooking?

LOL, I have a rule that I don't eat any critters testicles. The trade off is if I fall asleep or die in the woods that no critter eats mine. My pact with the world, only broken once many years ago.

    What's Cooking?

Zucchini boats again. Wife got some local made pork sausage, browned it up with some small red/orange/yellow sweet peppers and diced onions. Gutted a couple big zukes, painted with garlic butter and grilled open side down for a little while to get the grill marks, flipped them over, filled with the sausage onions pepper mixture, drizzled the remaining garlic butter on it (because you don't waste it and it would have looked bad if I drank it), then put shredded mozzarella on two and Mexican Fiesta cheddar on the other two. Pic is just waiting for the cheese to melt and add some chopped green onion on top. Purty good if I do say so myself, and have some left for lunch tomorrow.
  11. Dang, glad it was worse RPS.
  12. Nah, it's just "normal" to reel with left hand for me. From way back when spinning reels were all left handed. It dont matter as long as you are comfortable with it. Except for those who turn a spinning reel upside down and crank it bckwards, now that is just wrong!
  13. Anybody who fishes, doesn't have time, energy or money to spare for a revolution.
  14. I usually go one step further, I just don't catch big fish. Makes it easier.
  15. The kill didn't affect bass. Walleye, drum and buffalo mostly with a few muskie thrown in.
  16. By far the best link or video of this entire thread.👍
  17. You hush, I make popcorn every evening and catch up on this one.

    What's Cooking?

Sans the blackberry jam we have this about once a week. Turns an ordinary grilled cheese into a meal.
  19. Sweet! So if I take up diving and then spearfishing if I can see a big walleye I can shoot it, easy peasy. Just like deer I guess, because nobody ever sees a big deer that they are not able to kill if they want to.😄
  20. How did the fish kill on Pomme become associated with spearfishing/bowfishing/gigging/stabbing anything. I must have dozed off somewhere along the line, which is quite likely.

    What's Cooking?

Can't wait until my canteloupes make. The thought of some med rare to rare steak and fresh, dead ripe canteloupe, sounds amazing. I like mine with maybe a dash of salt and then plenty more slices of loupe.

    What's Cooking?

I love a seared med rare skirt steak.
  23. https://water.usgs.gov/edu/qa-chemical-fishkills.html. here is a decent short explanation on how warm water can result in a low DO fish kill.
  24. There were a couple muskie yesterday, but heard reports of others.
