  1. Can anyone recommend an advance nymphing book? I've read all about all the basics and am looking for something in depth.
  2. Here is the pic. Thanks again for all the help.
  3. Welcome... I have to ask what was the river like during the years the lake filled up. Did they run water the whole time?
  4. I finished my "perfect" nymph box...the standards I can tie well (FB pheasant tail, hare's ear wet, crystal prince, UV grey dubbing scud, rubber leg FB copper john, and zebra and pheasant tail midges). I would like to thank everyone for the help on the bead head and misc help threads. I hope to post a pic tonight. So now to work on the dries. What would be your "Ozark Standards" and at what size for the spring creeks? What would be in your back up case? 5. Welcome aboard. I look forward to some pics of those monsters.
  6. I've never been, but the Buffalo into the White sounds like a fit. Where ever you go take and post some pics please. MIC
  7. I bought a Kindle for an early Xmas gift for the family. So far, its working great.
  8. The key to a great marriage is yard work. That is why the old married couples have the best lawns...
  9. Maybe we can gather up a Red Neck Gang to bust in on your reception. Congrats
  10. So very sweet.
  11. THANKS...much better.
  12. I got some sore thumbs trying to hold hooks and get the bead's around the bend. I've been holding the hook with the point on my thumbnail and using my other hand's fingers and thumb to force the bead around the bend. So far its working (only snapped one hook), but starting to get pretty tender fingers. I have a dozen/fifteen to go. Anybody got a trick to doing this?
  13. I so need a job in Branson.
  14. Brian, I went to start tying the Hare soft hackle...do you tie in a tail? Seen it a couple of different ways.
  15. Tim, I forgot about you on this board. How do you determine what goes on your "what's working" list for your shop?
  16. So whats the core? I was referring to the hot lists you see at the local fly shops...Weaver's, the shop at Bennett, the White River reports we get here every week.
  17. LMFAO..."that's funny I don't care who you are..."
  18. I see where you are going (pellet feed dummies), but they clearly take rising insects. Why wouldn't the same apply for nymphs?
  19. Maybe some of the regulars like Lilley and Chief can answer the following: Everything I have read in the last two years says that the best overall nymphs across the country are pheasant tails and hare's ears. However, you never seem to see them on the list of "hot flies" for the parks and tail waters. Why is that?
  20. Nevermind. I tried it on scud hooks. I like. Looks a lot more alive. I hope the fish agree.
  21. "I grab my rod and reel and drag them in." Thats awesome. What a good morning. I need to try duck/goose hunting sometime.
  22. Do you have a pic of your hare and copper?
  23. Hey Al, I was at the hook section of the fly shop yesterday trying to decide on nymph hooks for this. Do you change from a 1X to a 2X when you add the bead? If you happen to stick with a 1X, what section to you make smaller?
  24. Sorry..forgot add...what sizes also?
  25. Do you drift or swing the soft hackle?
