  1. I think your right. My waders are probably not fitted right. Got them at the outlet store really cheap. I will try your suggestion of a liner under a wool sock next time.
  2. I wish I could find some wading boots with heaters in them. I think I still have frostbite from wading Saturday.
  3. I like fishing at night in the summer when there is so much fog I don't have a clue where I am casting. It is fishing totaly by feel. When they hit it is pretty exciting.
  4. My wife and I made it down today. Only about 10 people and the fishing was GREAT!! We caught about 60 fish each on about anything we wanted to throw. Roads are completely clear.
  5. Any luck? Off and on. Orange San Juan worm, BWO's and Olive Wooly Buggers seemed to be what worked the best. Water was very low and the fish bit very short. If we would have hooked all the fish that bit short we would have caught about 60 each. We caught plenty to make it worth the trip. Roads were pretty good. Lots of big fish left in the river. Only saw about 10 people all day. That alone made it a great day.
  6. Thanks. I'll see you tomorrow.
  7. How is the roads down to RR? I am thinking about going tomorrow. I have a 4x4 Yukon. Does anyone think it is worth the risk with with all of the hills and the snowfall tonight? I'd like to get down there one more time before catch and keep opens up.
  8. Great report!! Thanks.
  9. I caught a lot of bass out of ponds with a helicopter lure! Thought it was the best bait ever made!
  10. Number 6. C & R at roaring river on a nice day brings out people who kill a lot of big fish. Makes me sick.
  11. Stopped by Tims to spend some Christmas money and I bought a new 6' 3 weight rod. I like the way it makes the dinks feel like they have some size. I've been wanting one for a long time and finally brought myself to get one. Sunday we caught a lot of fish on glo-balls, san juan worms, beetles, griffiths gnats and cracklebacks. Catching fish was not hard, but finding anything with any size to it was pretty tough. We saw a few, but they were spooked easily. The water is real low and clear. The biggest of the day was about 2 lbs. Monday I went by myself and the fish didn't want to cooperate as well. Caught one that might have went 3, but the small ones were harder to come by for me.
  12. Didn't get to go. Thanks for the report though. Maybe next weekend I'll make it down.
  13. How did the river look? Is there still any color in it from the rain? Is it up from opening weekend? Thinking about going down tomorrow.
  14. I agree. No cement for my flies either. If it falls apart I just put another one on and have an excuse to tie more.
  15. Port O'Connor Texas. Caught a Sheepshead and didn't see the teeth until it was almost too late. Same trip caught a 6' shark and tried to pick it up by the tail and about got my arm bitten off.
  16. Thanks. I got lucky. I hunt for the meat. Usually take does and spikes, but couldn't pass this one up. He had a small body. Didn't weigh it, but didn't get a lot of meat off of him compared to most I harvest.

  18. It was great to meet everyone Friday. The hot dogs were great!!! The fish were small, but easy enough to catch. We did get into some bigger ones Saturday. Nothing to brag about, but definately better than Friday.
  19. I would edit my post, but that is pretty darn funny!!!!
  20. This is my first post. I have always just read in the past, and really appreciate all of the info I get from this site, especially about Taneycomo. C&R is the best time of year at RR!! I'm pretty simple when it comes to flies. Heavily weighted woolybuggers, egg patterns, griffiths gnats, and beatles are what I like to throw at the big ones.
