Well my dad did it again before the wind switched. He took a buddy of his and caught only 7 fish with 3 keepers. However, one was a solid 5 1/2 and the other one was not quite 7lbs with it weighing 6.89 on his scales. The 5 1/2 bit an A-rig in 20ft of water. The bigger fish bit on a black/pink football jig in 25ft of water around an isolated cedar tree off a bluffend. His small fish bit his shad rap but nothing big. He was glad they caught what they caught because after 1:30 they never got another bite. Fished from 10am-4pm. I fished 39 Bridge for a few hours and caught 8 fish with 4 nice keepers all the keeper came off of one bluffend with a couple of hardwoods on them. They all bit a jerkbait.

He was just before the intersection of the white and the island and where there a some pockets located not far from the channel. Jerkbaits, throw what you have confidience in. Any of the newer models are working well and will suspend really well right out of the box. Standard size jerkbaits are what we are using with natural shad colors since the water clarity is really good. We are not letting it sit for a very long time maximum of 15 sec. but mainly jerk, jerk, pause, 2-5ct and jerk, pause varying the retrieve. We have been 3/4ing the bank or parralleling as long as the your in 5-12ft of water with the bait you should get bit until the temps drop. I would think when that happens you would have to pause the bait alot longer. I don't think the fish will be going anywhere as long as you have deep water nearby the fish will be there. If they are not in the depth that we are catching them at we would pull out and fish deeper. Hope the info helps. The fish will let you know they are there if you are in the right places.

We are throwing all the fish back so you will have another chance at them. LOL

Dad said his big fish was caught around 11am as well. This pattern is a blast when you get around them. They will crush the jerkbait. It is a blast. Nice fish guys.

Took the family out of Viola Saturday, and went to a deep pocket that was somewhat out of the wind and threw the jerkbait around some timber and big rocks and caught several 14 inch largemouth and came across a secodary point and caught 2 4lbers on back to back casts. Caught all fish in 8-12ft of water. My dad fished towards the mouth of the kings and white river and had an excellent day fishing a jerkbait and shad rap. He had 20 fish with 5 keepers one being a hefty 7lber. The wind had all of his fish up shallow as he fished several pockets with big rock being the key for him. He said his 7lber bit in 2ft of water. And his other fish were no deeper than 10ft. Water temp was 46-45.8.

Pro Blue or Secret Night, been throwing the cosmic shad and haven't had a bite on it yet.

Have been fishing 39 bridge to Campbell Point the last couple of weeks and have been doing really well on the lucky strike jerkbaits as well. When you get around them they will hammer the thing. Not pausing it very long either. I have been fishing deep pockets with timber and big rocks sitting in 20 ft throwing into 5-10ft and when it gets in that 7-12ft that is where all my bites are coming from. As long as deep water is close by the fish are there.

Except for the BASS VIRUS that hit the lake several years ago. The lake is fishing just as good if not better than in years before that. Even though night fishing is a little different the weight of the night fishing scene has grown due to more and more 5-8lb fish that have matured and were the 3-4 lb fish that we were catching a few years ago. The day tournaments are staying consistant in weights. If you don't have at least 15lbs in spring to early summer you are going to go home empty handed. The falloff isn't as durastic. If you want a chance at winning a derby in that time period you better have 20lbs + to be in contention. The lake is big enough to handle all of the pressure that tourists and seasoned fisherman put on the lake. I don't think there is any other lake that gives a fisherman a chance at a 20lb bag of kentuckies, largemouth, smallmouth.

Looks as if he is more than 1/2 way or to the back of a pocket or finger in a creek.

Thanks for the tips Champ, dblades I am a non-boater so I not be bringing back any zebras mussels.

American-All Star 6-6 medium heavy with soft tip. Great for spooks, pop-r's, buzzbaits etc. On the walking baits just wait for the feel of the fish and start steadily reeling and you will stick them everytime.

Thanks for the advice.

Heading South next week to Lake Dardanelle to fish a State BASS federation tournament and was wondering if anyone is familiar with the lake and had any suggestions on what to use and what to look for when fishing it.
-
Was wondering if anyone who fishes these tournaments would post the results of the tournament.

JBrant, I would consider fishing from Big Cedar all the way towards as far up Long Creek you are familiar with. The Spinnerbait bite should be really getting good in that area of the lake, if that doesn't work throw a wart and jig and you will catch them. The A-rig bite will be starting to get good as well as long as the water temp keeps going down.

Good luck this weekend.

I would recommend fishing around KC to Baxter up some creek arms or long deep pockets with topwaters early unless there are clouds you can use topwaters all day. Throw jigs and cranks around big chunck rock/transition areas with some isolated timber is a bonus.

Finished 3rd out of 15 boats for the Benefit Tourney for the basketball team. Launched out of Big Indian and head up Big Indian Creek to some pockets located at the mouth of the creek and started catching fish. The first five minutes caugh our biggest fish on a white buzzebait, a solid 3.5 black a couple of casts later my partner bagged out 2nd keeper on spook jr. worked the pocket around some poll timber and didn't get bit. Pulled the trolling moter and moved to another pocket and caught the heck of the small fish. Headed to the back of Trace Hollow and same thing caught a butt load of small fish mostly on top water and some came on crawdad cranks. Changed locations again and went up Little Indian and fished a deep pocket that I refer to "Coon Cove" due to the people that put out corn and a pack of coons swim across to get some food. They do it every year. Anyways fished the mouth of the pocket on a deep ledge and bagged some more short fish on a jig. Fished all the way to the back and bagged two more keepers. It was 10:30 by this point. Changed locations again to a mainlake pocket and caught our fifth keeper brownie on a jig in 15ft of water. After 1:30 the bite shut down for us. Hit well over a 20 different pockets and caught fish in every one of them. Only difference compared to last week was that most of the bait fish was pushed out to the mouths of the pockets instead of in the back. Our weight was 10.67 for five fish. 1st place was 12.91 heard that they caught keepers on topwaters and squarebills topwater fish were the better quality for them. 2nd place was 11.98 and heard he caught his fish on a wart and caught 16 keepers all in 2ft of water on windy banks. All of us fished around Baxter to KC. Never fished anything deeper than 15ft even if I was on a steep bank. Chunk rock with some isolated timber, hardwoods/ceders was what we were keying in on.

5 Year Old With Leukemia Benifit Tournament
Sprint21fter replied to Jason Essary's topic in Table Rock Lake
Despite a rainy day the tournament raised over 1500 dollars with over 20 boats that fished. There ended up being a tie between two teams that had 12+ lbs of fish. Big Bass was a 4.24. The bite was really good but the bigger fish seemed like they fed all day. Me and my partner fished jigs and spinnerbaits and caught over 20+ fish and only had one good one which wasn't good enough to get big bass 4.18. Had to fish the jig slow slow and slower. All of our fish came from 8ft of water on chunk rock banks. -
