Agree 100% with Mr. Eros. Boils down to finding the fish. All the guys that are consistant on Table Rock will still be the guys to beat.

Cajun I have had fish hit my hookless baits a fews times every time I have used it throughout the day. When I hook a fish it is hooked most of the time with the middle bait. The teeth marks on my hookless baits shows the proof but for the most part they go after the middle one.

I agree with Clunns facebook page as well.

Table Rock Lake Fishing Report 1-16-12
Sprint21fter replied to Bill Babler's topic in Table Rock Lake
I've seen a couple of 10 lbers out of Table Rock that some fellow friends have shown me. I know The Rock has some big fish in it. The few that I have seen caught were all around spawning time where they were up shallow and a couple were being looked at. However, I have been told by some fellow club members that this time of year is when some monsters can be caught as well. Most of the big fish that I have caught have been in the first two weeks of March or Last two weeks in December. Looking at tournaments weights march or december have the biggest weight for limits and big bass. -

He catch the 10lber out of Table Rock? -
Mr. Cullin by 9. If you don't have one, I would suggest you give it a try and see what you think about it. You put in the hands of 5 boats and the results will vary. The A-rig is just another trick we can utilize to try to gain another edge. Every competitive angler wants to have as much edge as they can so they can get a check. Any tournament angler that gets on fish with one bait can out fish the A-rig at the same time. Boils down to finding them and what you have confidence in.
-
I dont know what the big deal is with the A-rig. In all of the tournaments that I have been around state that only arficial lures can be used using one rod. The A-rig is 3-5 artifical lures that can be thrown on one rod. It's not live bait. It's the appearance of a school of bait and if the fish want to bite it they will. Fish don't eat every minute of the day. The A-rig doesnt' catch fish every cast or on every bank you fish.
-
I understand that the Elites have banned the A-rig they also don't allow dip nets to land their fish. It is unbelieveable to see how those elite guys can belly land or grab a 4 plus pound fish and put them into the boat without the getting away. It is hard enough for me to use a dip net by myself to land a big solid fish that is fighting to get away. They are setting the standard of what a professional is supposed to be. However, the A-rig isn't a magic bait that everone can pick any bank and go catch a 15-20lb bag of fish. You still have to go and find the fish to catch the fish. As long as nobody is trolling it behind the boat I wouldn't have a problem with it being allowed in tournament fishing. You will feel like you have thrown 5 deep divers all day long. Not everyone throwing the A-rig is going to catch a huge bag of fish that is still where the ones that can find the fish will always be successful. I would like to see if FLW will ban the A-rig since it exploded on their TV telecasts.

Thanks.

Where can I go on-line to register or find out when the Bass Cat Tourney is going to be held? I have looked on the webpage and all I get is their last tournament in 2010 and on the date for last year it says "washed out" from the flood. I later saw on here that the Chamber was going to put a owners touney on for the owners. My dad and I was planning on staying at a campground but we were wanting to know when to book some reservations before the campground would get full.

Do you pick the rod up at the weigh in site on the last day?

Fished three days last week up to new years day and had two warts tied on and a A-rig. Fished Baxter up the creek arms and caught 14lbs of fish with a bunch of 14 inchers on a wart. The biggest came on the A-rig that was the only one I caught that day on the A-rig. Fished Campbell point area the next day and caught a bunch of short non-keepers on the wart and two keeper kentuckies on the A-rig. Fished Kings river New Years day and caught a limit on the wart in the first 20 minutes and kept catching them all day long never laid the wart down that day. However, never got the bonus big bite I was wanting to up grade. Had to crank the wart down and then crawl the bait over the rocks. Once there was pressure you would feel a little head shake and just keep reeling and bring the fish in. No worries of losing them most of the fish had the bait down their throats.

If you are in Shell Knob the station south of the 39 bridge has ethanol free gas.

Planning on being there at the ramp.

Have you guys heard what Paula Elias and the rest of the top 10 used in Guntersville on what was expected to be a tough bite. This Alabama Rig simulates a small school of baitfish and they smashed them on it catching suspended fish. Every angler interviewed was talking about how they would attack the bait. Thrift even had one comment about catching two four pounders and neither one helped him. I getting on the waiting list to get a couple of them since they are back ordered. I would think it would work really well in the clear water around the bluffends, long points, and deep tree tops. Thought someone would talk about by now. And as far as I know which isn't much that this rig is legal to use in Table Rock. What do you guys think about the Alabama Rig?
-
Throw it a long ways with a 1 oz tungston weight fish it with flurocarbon and a good tipped rod. That was the facts presented to me. Mr. Campbell could have been in 55th of water and fishing treetops for all I know. I know several fisherman that fish a big texas rigged worm that deep when it is in the dog days of summer pn The Rock.

Fished in the open as well was 2 oz away from a check. Had a great time with the pros that I drew. Ken Iyobe was a wonderful Japaneese angler. We fished up the James River dragging football jigs and hula grubs. Only asked for 30 dollars for gas. Was expecting to pay at least 50 dollars each day. Thursday totally suprised me. Drew Teb Jones from Mississippi and I asked what he wanted for gas money and said nothing just hoping for you to catch a couple of keepers and get a check. I about lost my coffee. He pulled up his decked out Triton boat with HD's Lowrance units with mapping and pointed at the map and told me where I liked to fish and what I would like to do. My dad was in 7th place after day 1 and fished with Jim Culp who was awesome to fish with as well. They both caught two keepers fishing ceder trees in Cow Creek. Jim also lost a 4lber on a texas rigged creature bait of some kind that my dad couldn't identify. Paid 35 dollars for gas. The 2nd day was totally different drew James Watson and he waked down the bank so fast covering water and never had a chance to cast for a crazy bass. However, didn't ask for any gas money and as the day went they helped Ricky Campbell back to the weigh in who caught 4 fish for a little over 10lbs and said he had caught them in 55ft of water on a big texas rigged senko. I had a great time and you hear good things and bad about fishermen. Roland Martin isn't what he appears on TV his ego gets in the way. My dad complimented his son about his big FLW win and he had just a couple of words to say about it and that was it. If it was him who had won that Championship he would have never stopped talking about it. Sorry to see prominent figures be such jerks. If everything is going right then they are happy. If his coffee is too hot it will ruin his day.

Was hoping we could find a fifth keeper bite but it didn't happen. Just fish hard and you never know what will happen. It can happen fast. I agree with the wind being a huge factor. There was plenty of bait shallow or in the middle of the creek arms that we fished and if the wind would blow like it is today you could cover lots of water and get a good reaction bite.

Fished out of Mill Creek yesterday finished 8th out of 76 boats with 8.45lbs with 4 fish with a 3.5 smallmouth for our big fish. My Dad had 6 bites and two were keepers one was a nice meanmouth. I had three bites two were keepers and the other one was a 13 inch rock bass. Just 1lb and 3/4 seperated us from a top 3. 14lbs and chage won and it dropped from there. Several 5 fish limits that was under 8lbs. Tournament paid two big bass. Both looked liked twinkies one was 51/2 and the other was barely over 5lbs. Slow day. I would suggest fishing areas you have confidence in. Our biggest fish came from 20ft. The other three were caught in less than 10ft. Those FLW anglers will figure somthing out.
-
Whoever likes to drag and grind it out will do well. Haven't seen the forcast in a couple of days. If the wind picks up easily 28lbs for 2 days willl have them in the top 5. Any of those guys can bust a big bag if they are willing to zero for it. Around 45lbs for three days will be in the thick of it. If the wind picks up and some clouds roll in it might be what the lake needs to take off.

Fishing the Baxter area for a couple of weeks now and have noticed that the bite has become very tough unless you are at the right place at the right time. Found a topwater bite in some mainlake pockets around timber in the mornings and would last most of the day if the clouds would stay around. That changed ever since the High Pressure system has been setting in for several days now. Went to fishing a football head jig in the mid depth range of 20-25ft on way out on flats, transitions, and points. Couldn't find them. Moved deeper fishing in 40-45ft and at least been getting few bites. I am soaking that jig down there barely crawling along the bottom. If I feel I have come across a bigger rock or small broken off trees I stop the jig and try to twitch/pause the jig beside the structure. After I move it over the structure and let it settle back down on the bottom I get bit. Saturday had 7 bites with three good keepers. 2 Kentuckies, 1 largemouth. Sunday, fished the same are to maybe dial in on them for an upcoming tournament and didn't get a bite after two passes on my main area. Went back the third time an 1hour later made 5 casts and caught 4 fish with 2 being squeeker kentuckies and missed another bite on my 5 cast with my trailer being torn off. Instead of the October lull for deer hunting T-Rock has the October lull for fishing. Probably will try spooning some docks and see what I can find. Heard only 13 boats weighed fish for the Homer Sloan tourney. A couple of big bass was brought in: 5.89 and 6.05. Thats all I heard from a buddy that fished in it.

Fishing has been very tough. However there are still biting fish out there. I have been covering lots of water from Baxter up the Kings. The main thing I have been getting bites on has been the jig. 1/2-3/8 oz jigs in anything with green pumpking. I have been junk fishing for the last month and the best bite for me has been in the middle of the day. The only thing I can think of why they are biting better in the middle of the day is they are sitting on stuff. It maybe a visible piece of cover or if I am offshore working it through brush or trees they are biting. As long as there is a little bit of shade around the cover that is what I have found. Been fishing anywhere to out as far as 45ft. Have found a pop-r bite in the mornings or late evenings if shad are present next to the bank. Thats been working for me.

If you want to fight the wind put the nose into the wind and put your trolling motor on high this allows you to slow roll the blade and keep decent boat position. With the wind howling tighten your reel tension so you won't backlash every cast. If you tune it right you can make long roll casts under the trees through the open lanes. Find places with several points in a close area and start running points. Be ready if you have the blade in the right spot becuase they will jerk the rod out of your hand.

Put in at Cow Creek saturday afternoon with the wind rolling a good chop and went point hoping and chunked the spinnerbait through the bushes and caught several good fish with 4 big kentuckies and 1 16inch samllie would have made a respectable stringer. The key was I had plenty of wind and the baitfish were loaded where I was. Caught the bigger fish on the inside of one point inside a 50 yd stretch. Jumped other point with the same wind and would pick off a couple of small fish each point I fished. They are so aggressive that I don't know how far away they were coming from some of the casts that they would tear up my blade and almost jerk the rod out of my hand. If you were bringing it by a bush you be bracing for impact but would get hit until it was almost at the boat. Alot of fun. Caught some smallies on the tube as well after the wind laid down enough in the areas that I fished.

The bottom fell out in Berryville, AR. Kings river will be rollin again. Didn't think we were going to get this much this fast again. Looks like the storm is slowly spinning off but will take thru the night to slow down. If we keep getting pounded with heavy bands we are in trouble again. We have some room in the lake but it will be shriking before the day is over. COE will do fine. I have faith they know what to do.
