  1. Yes! Had 15mph winds on Saturday. They still bit on Sunday with a little ripple but its a early morning low light deal. They are up shallow at night and move out once the sun gets over the horizon. Babler had mentioned that McClelland had been catching good smallmouth shallow on the crawler early but once the sun got above the trees it was done. With the clouds we had over the weekend it would last til 9:30.
  2. If you looked at map trails on my GPS it looked like a bowl of spaghetti! My plan was to have a mixed bag of smallmouth and largemouth. Smallmouth are biting unreal during lowlight hours that lasts til 9 with good cover like we had over the weekend. Smallmouth are intrguing to me, if it's sunny/windy they will tear the paint off a blade right now. If it's cloudy I couldn't get them to come up for one, you had to bang/drag something in their face.
  3. Finished 8th over the weekend. Pattern: Crankin and topwaters just off the main lake. Dam-CowCreek. Consistent morning bite on the cranker: wart/rk crawler. Be careful the small mouth are mean and eating it. Don't let them take the rod from you or break you off, set the drag and wear em down. Had a limit the 1st day for 11.35 by 930. One was a plopper bite. 2nd day 1st bite ended up being my limit fish that sky rocketed out of the water 3ft right in front of the boat only to throw it back at me. Weights dropped for everyone today. Biggest bag on day 1, 18lbs. Day 2 big bag was 11lbs. Fall fishing is hear lots of options shallow or deep. Everyone have great week. Wt: since last Sunday have dropped 10 degrees. 79 then to 68-69 at the dam.
  4. Bull Shoals is scary good! Alot of people are missing the boat on this!
  5. 9 times out of 10 if you are around a smallmouth he stays fairly aggressive.
  6. The joys of fall fishing! Might get a few bites all day and they could all come from a different part of the water column.
  7. Same kind of deal at the dam today for me. My big bite jumped off on a blade but was the brown kind! Mixed bag of largemouth and brownies. Only caught 2 smallmouth on the jig but we're both keepers.
  8. About 8 years ago in the year end fish out that is out of 39bridge. The Stark boys brought in a 5 fish limit that weighed 27lbs and change. All the same size 5.5 lbers. 2nd was 20 with a 7.5 lber for big fish. The conditions were very similar to what we had a few days ago with cloud cover and low pressure.
  9. Bet that made the ticker jump a few beats!
  10. I saw a few in the Campbell Pt area and a couple of Walleye in the KC area.
  11. It's tough on us derby guys. There were lots of complaining at the dock which is typical. One big bite separated the top guys from the rest. I mixed in some deep stuff with the spoon and got no love doing that. I know second place was running shallow stuff and deep stuff. It's all timing right now. I had a few pockets where they came up schooling and threw a spook in on one and nothing, swam a spoon threw another and nothing. It's just like Babler said it's just like September fishing.
  12. Not sure how many boats maybe 50. I was boat 34 and there were several behind me today. Good luck.
  13. Decided to fish the Joe Bass tournament today. Gambeled on chasing wolf packs of bass eating Bream. It didn't work out to well. Execution was perfect. Had 8 bites caught all of them. Only brought 3 keepers to the scales. Caught those 3 in one Creek arm early. Checked it again in the afternoon and all the bait and bream had pulled out. Weighed almost 8 lbs. There were 2 6 lbers weighed in for big fish. 15lbs was the top 2 bags.
  14. Fished KC area today had to really hunt around to find the bait. Once we did caught a few. 8 good keepers with afew small fish mixed in. They were buched up more today. Reeling one in they would have multiple buddies with them. Hit 30 places and 5 had bait and fish on them. WT upper 80's visibility 7-10 feet. Depth 35-45 today. Moved out a smidge.
  15. Fished a benefit tournament for a Berryville man having open heart surgery. Great turnout, close to 50 boats. 4 fish limit. It was tough on everyone. I believe top stringer was barely 10 lbs. 5.20 was big fish. We only had 3 for a smidge over 9lbs. Couldn't find the 4th keeper. Had a great time for a great cause. I will leave the poor fish alone for a couple weeks since I will be on vacation. Stay cool guys and keep catching them.
  16. Fished mid lake with my dad last night from 7-12. Ended with 8 keepers. Jigs and a big ole worm caught em. We were deeper fishing drops and cedar trees. 35-50. Casting into 25 bringing it out the bite would come as the bait was gliding down the drop. WT 89 at 7 87.5 when we pulled out.
  17. I have dreams of days like that!
  18. Hunter 91, were you planning on culling the 5.75??Great catch!!😁
  19. Here's another Walleye for the dinner table. Be safe the pleasure crowd was busy today.
  20. Diddo for the bite lasting for such a long time. Been since Memorial weekend that I figured my pattern out. Fished til 11:30 today. They were chewing early then a long lull before they bit again. Easily had 17lbs boated and had another big one jump off. 1 big walleye. Depth 30-42ft. If no bait present no fish period! Was nice to have cooler temps today.
  21. Met Fishrman at the ramp this morning. Started running the pattern as in previous posts. Had an all day bite with a mixed bag. Lost count after 25. Had 12-14 keepers. Blacks, spots, and a very impressive meanmouth that Fishrman caught. Boated 3 nice crappie, 1 big white, 1 sub legal walleye. Best 5 would have been close to 14lbs. WT: 83-86 ish. Had to cover alot of spots but would get a couple bites in each place. Have a safe 4 of July everyone.
  22. Had another solid day, fished the upper end today running same pattern I have been on. 9 keeper bass plus some shorts. 3 big crappie. WT: 83 in the morning, 85-86 by 12. Pics of 2 biggest bass today.
  23. WT:82.5-85.5. Had to run around alot to find where the most shad was located in order to find keepers just as Bo has eluded too. Still found 8 solid keepers nothing over 3 1/4 pounds. 3 Walters with 2 being keepers, 1 big crappie, 1 big white. Bigger bass from other outings the last month, the lake has been treating me good lately. This post has been promoted to an article
