  1. 39 bridge up to eagle rock
  2. Was wondering if anyone is finding a topwater bite? I and tons of guys have been whacking them on the Rock. Tried yesterday morning for a while and only one dink on Spook. Water temperature is right for top water but haven't seen and schooling fish. Looking at my notes, should be a good topwater bite, always have done well this time of year. Has me wondering and scratching my head, maybe we are just behind schedule? Any thoughts or ideas?
  3. Never like how braid cast, have always used 15 lbs big game mono, it floats and strong as rope. Also use it for my c-rig lieter
  4. 45-50 sounds like a awesome day! Way to go! Thanks for the report!
  5. Sorry to hear that bro, take care and heal up nicely! You'll be ready just in perfect time for the fall frenzy!
  6. Put in at CC at 7am to 67.3 and very stained water. Started with chartreuse chatterbait paralleling chanel banks had 3 shorts. Switched to fire tiger wart and caught 1 keep and several shorts. Moved down past Springfield cove and found better water with nice color and spent rest of day on bluffs, swings and mainlake points with 5/8 homemade brown/purple/red fb jig with 5"green pumpkin /purple twin tail trailer caught over 30 with 7 keeps one flathead and two keeper eyes. Fish were in 8-20 fow and scattered, fished up to chicken rock and back. Caught mostly post spawn fish that are skinny and hungry. Loaded up at 7:30 Tightlines and CPR
  7. Wow those are impressive numbers! Congrats!
  8. Thanks for the report, it's time for the night bite to take off. I'll be doing some myself real soon. Nothing like the hard strikes at night!
  9. I had the opportunity to go fishing with zaraspook two weeks ago, and after we caught lots of bass on c-rig,jig and crankbaits he showed me his technique of trolling for crappie. Within a hour we had 11 keeper crappie several shorts, white bass and blacks, I learned that it's where, how deep and speed you troll. Zara flat knows his stuff about trolling and was kind enough to show me a little of his vast knowledge for trolling! I'm sure he is still whacking them trolling!
  10. Yeah 96 champ, was slick with no wind but with front approaching I knew they had to be feeding somewhere. My gut said put a bait in their wheelhouse, for me that's a jig. First bluff I tried with 3 fish in 20 yard stretch I knew I was on to something! So fulfilling when you figure them out! Even a blind squirrel finds a nut from time to time!
  11. Yes when the water temperature is above 65, below 65 I use a critter craw
  12. Great point Quill, I touch up every single hook I use, no matter the bait. Factory sharp is not razor sharp!
  13. Put in at 39 bridge at 6:15 to slick and 68.9 water. Started on mainlake pea gravel points with a spook and wp, fish jumping all over and around but no hookups. Changed to Super Spook and started hooking some. I think that the 3 hooks on Super Spook makes a big difference on hookup ratio. Jumped from point to point and caught mostly spots and a few brownies no blacks. Had 12 with 2 keeper spots. At 8 changed over to 5/16 homemade brown/purple/red finesse jig on bluffs, and game on! For next two hours the dinner bell was ringing! Caught over 25 with 7 keeps all blacks. All post spawn fish except 1 still pre-spawn. Fish were on second drop in 15-18fow and just crushing the jig! Also caught 21in bonus eye on jig. Switched back to pea gravel points with 5/8oz homemade brown/purple/red fb jig in 20-30fow and picked up several short spots. Periodically would see some schooling fish and had Zman 4" diesel minnow ready on deck, had a ball catching numbers of fish including the Rock slam "black, spot, brownie and meanmouth. Had over 30 and several times 3 or 4 in a row. Had 6 keeps on Zman. Great day, loaded up at 1 as big storm was approaching. Tight lines and CPR
  14. Great fishing! You are a awesome TW fisherman! Nice pics and you gotta love those doubles! Thanks for the report and pics!
  15. With all the topwater reports wondering if anyone is hooking them on the Redfin? I tried it Friday with no success.
  16. They must be, seen a guy cleaning a bunch at the ramp Wednesday, I haven't tried for them though.
  17. Nice trip, thanks for sharing and the pics!
  18. Started at 6:30 39 bridge area on mainlake points. Good topwater bite until about 9. Lots of spots and a almost 4lbs black. Switched to deep little n on same type banks and caught several 2 keeps. Hit some swings with 1/2 fb jig and did ok with 3 keeps. After about 11:30 the bite shut down for me, fished till 3 and struggled and only had 2 dinks on c-rig lizard and only brownie of the day. Water temp 63.3-66.8 Tightlines and CPR
  19. Gotta be on fish! As the saying goes 90% of the fish live in 10% of the water and 10% of the fisherman catch 90% of the fish.
  20. Good luck, pray for wind and overcast. Preferably southern or southwestern wind. Regardless, like my dad always taught me,best time to go fishing is when you can.
  21. Put in at Mutton at 10am with a NE wind and 62.82 water temp at the ramp. With water up figured they be pulling at the dam so I targeted mainlake points. Used 1/2oz homemade brown/ purple/red fb jig with a green pumpkin twin Yamamoto trailer. Found fish right away on first point I tried, fish in 10-18fow. Fished to monkey island and back, ended up with 28 and 6 keeps all on fb jig. Caught a lot of spawned out fish that are hungry and staging on points to feed before they hit deep water for the summer. Next two weeks fb jig will shine for me. Warmest water I fished was 64.66. Tight lines and CPR
  22. Thanks, did you happen to notice a rise of lake level?
  23. If that's the case they gotta be pulling water. Excellent, makes em get on the move and bite better!
  24. Walcrabass, I only use round rubber exclusively on all my jigs. I switched completely a few years ago and have witnessed the improvement over flat silicone or flat rubber.
  25. Going in the morning, any recent temps? Are they pulling water?
