  1. Not that bad of a problem considering!
  2. Yep, while taking a break or eating something, order online and have shipped, back to fishing! Lol
  3. Great advice, haven't had any trim problems of yet but if I ever do I'll remember this advice! Thanks bro!
  4. Here's a resolution.
  5. Happy New Years to everyone! Here is my list for 2017.
  6. Iteresting, before the fish kill, my buddies and I regularly caught 5-7 pounders every spring granted mostly night fishing and rogues in all the timber that's now gone. I fished the James arm yesterday where is probably the largest concentration of blacks and only caught 1. Seems the blacks after the kill have dropped greatly in numbers and those that are still around are deep dwellers except in pre-spawn through posts then they head deep. Just some of my thoughts and observations.
  7. Dutch, that's for sure, must of been 10--15 boats around point 15 in Flat creek and the James side
  8. Anti monopoly.
  9. Thanks for the report. I guess I was fishing to deep and the wrong stuff. I don't use a-rig, never have. It catches a lot of fish, but I'll never use one. To each his own.
  10. Nice, thanks for the report!
  11. Put in at 8 and hit a few holes up river for bass, nada. Lots of boats out. Hit a few crappie hole past point 15 and caught two nice slabs on 1/16oz jig and that was it, tried for a hour longer and nothing. Moved down around Thompson and fished back to ramp, threw deep diving clown rogue on bluffs and swings. Caught 9 spots 1 black and 1 brownie all shorts. Had fun but couldn't find any quality, but was happy getting bit. The crappie I cleaned full of eggs already, not mature but close. Tight lines and CPR
  12. Gamma copolymer 8# for all cb's Stren big game 15# for all blades Bps extreme 100% fluorocarbon 17# for all jigs Bps extreme 100% fluorocarbon 17# for main line and Stren Big game 15# liter for Carolina rig Stren Big game 15# for all top water baits
  13. Great results, thanks for the report.
  14. The sale of Cabelas to Johnny Morris is not a done deal, government has stepped in and may not allow the sale.
  15. I'm curious of everyone's personal best black before and after fish kill in 99 on Table Rock. Pics if possible and lure. Mine is a 10.29 in late February 96 on a Texas rigged lizard and after lbv "largemouth bass virus" a 7.84 on a jig.
  16. Was tuff, blue bird skies after around 1:30 and northern wind didn't help. Was surprised, when I launched their was 8 rigs in parking lot, but when I loaded up, no one in parking lot but my truck. I fished hard and was happy with the three I caught, considering conditions. I'll whack em next time.
  17. Real nice Cheese, the smile on your daughters face says it all! Congrats on a stellar day, and your daughters musky. Way cool!
  18. Put in at 9:30 and ran up the Big Sac about a mile past Birch. Water temp 41.04. Started on channel swings with 3/8oz green pumpkin finesse jig and caught 1 barely a keeper. Worked swings all the way past chicken rock with jig and clown rouge, nada. Went down past mile long bridge working bluffs and swings with rouge and jig no bites. Temp 45.6 Last hour of daylight finally caught 2 shorts on clown rouge. Tuff fishing but enjoyed the day just the same. Like my dad says "it's better than sitting at home watching lassie" Tight lines and CPR
  19. Thanks Fishrman.
  20. You know a-rig fish don't count. Lol. My buddy caught a 10.78 on a a-rig on 2012 while I was throwing a rouge in the James River arm, and me and all my buddies that don't use a-rigs agreed, a-rig fish don't count. To each his own.
  21. Great job! Eyes are a tasty bonus! Water temperature?
  22. You bet D, with our sons pursuing a career and doing there own thing, everytime on the water together with them is precious!
  23. Nice fish! Nothing like fishing with family and making lasting memories!
  24. I use a 7'3" meaduim action rod with 8 lb fluorocarbon line. This lets me cast farther and on a 6.3 gear ratio reel not moving the bait too fast. The longer in the strike zone the better. I also use deep diving suspending smithwick rouges exclusively, they get the bait deeper from the first jerk all the way back. Mostly I use a single jerk pause and depending on the bass mood will speed up the cadence if they are active. Usually start with a 5-7 second pause and ajust accordingly. I also use clown 99% of the time unless stained water, then black back gold side and red belly. Bluffs on the channel and swings are my favorite places to use rouge. Just a few if my techniques I use with good results. IMO these combinations have produced the best results.
  25. Great way to adjust your presentation and catch em.
