  1. Waterfront lots are way too expensive for what I need. All I want is a small lot to park my RV on when in the area, which may be a week a month to begin with. Country lots are nice, but then there's the problem with power, water and sewage. It's all about $$$$$$$$.
  2. I've been a member of this board since 2010, and have just one question please. If a person could buy a lot near the White river, what town (or county) would you choose to be near some good floating and fishing? I just retired after 49-years of hard work and ready to do some good fishing for a change. Thanks
  3. Looking for a nice trout boat... I prefer a 16' long x 48" bottom boat, if possible. I simply don't need a 20' boat for one person. Please PM me if you know where a good used one is, or have one for sale. Thanks
  4. Thanks guys... I will contact you.
  5. No guides.... sorry.
  6. I'm several states away, but I can make the trip a few times a year. I'd love to go. Thanks

  8. I know how to build the boat I want... just lacking the time is all.
  9. I have that book AL... thanks I don't do facebook... could you please PM me the info. thanks
  10. The cedar strip canoe's are way more than I can handle. Those guys are real talented. Another boat that I really want to build is like the Hyde Rocky Mountain Skiff, a RO skiff or an Adipose skiff. Those wide fly fishing boats will float in just a little water. I plan to have one ready for fall fishing.
  11. I have the measurements needed to build the boat. I want to add some rocker to the bottom for river running too.
  12. A little $$$ every week sounds way better that thousands upfront. I have all the lumber to build it anyway. Will need some extra's, of course.
  13. I can't find a used Shawnee, and simply can't afford a new one at this time. Thinking about building one out of marine plywood and cypress lumber, that I have plenty of. A 48" wide x 16' boat would be perfect in the milder rivers that I fish. Add a set of oar locks and wooden oars to guide it in moving water and go fishing. Plenty of dry storage and an ice chest would be nice too. It wouldn't be fiberglass, but I'm getting old and it probably would outlast me anyway. Ideas?
  14. Fantastic, I knew you could... now take us all on a smallie fishing trip.
  15. I only use spinning rods these days... two things that works perfect for me, I use the $50 Pflueger President reels and only use POWERPRO braid on them. No tangling or line problems ever with the braid.
  16. Do it yourself... you can do it.
  17. Like a kayak... every two inches of width makes a big difference in stability.
  18. At last, after about a year of poor health, not much extra cash and working when I can to pay my bills... I'm going to begin work on the boat during the week after Thanksgiving. If I can have it ready by early spring I will be happy.
  19. Got started yet?... I sure want to ride it in June.
  20. Here's one of the KY boat plans guys... but not the one in the video above. That boat had two rockered ends and was nearly 16' long. http://fw.ky.gov/gifs/flatbottomboat.jpg
  21. Hey thanks for all the ideas guys... I'm surprised that there is so many different opinions out there. I thought there would maybe be two lures used mostly. I really like the CD Rapala's for smallmouth bass, can save $$$ on lures for trout. Keep the good idea's coming... and thanks.
  22. I've been fishing for smallmouth bass for over 50-years, and I know how to catch them... But, I've only been trout fishing a few times... If a guy drove a long way to trout fish with lightweight spinning gear, what is the best lure to use? PM me if you rather keep it a secret. Thanks for your help
  23. Check this out guys... this is neat:
  24. I have my bow and transom completed and waiting for the marine plywood now. Then I can get my first picture on here of the hull. Just found out the company didn't ship my plywood as promised, so another week to get it here.
  25. Able to log on now... thanks
